I love the way it looks now that I finally got it to work. I tried multiple times to find a back and nothing so I put this up and it started falling in days. Today I went to redo it and used scotch tape to see if there really was backing or not and finally got it to pull apart. Now it’s what I expected. The instructions are horrible and say nothing about pulling the backing off before putting up. If I hadn’t used something like this before I never would have kept trying to pull it apart. This is a great product!….Filters some light and puts off a warm, ambient light. A generous amount of adhesive film for the price. I used it to cover some windows and get rid of the mini blinds that get soooo dusty….takes time to size and cut properly but easily done and well worth it. I love this stuff. It adds a small layer of privacy and when the sun shines through it makes pretty colors. My advice is to ignore the directions because they just make it confusing. All you need to do is clean the window and then mist lightly with water, put the film to the window and use a credit card or something to smooth out the air bubbles. I used this product on a large bathroom window that faces the driveway. At first I didn't think it would distort the ability to see inside enough at night, but I was WRONG. It's perfect. I also like the "gator-skin pattern" which creates rainbows when the western sun hits it. My plants are also thriving so please note that it is not light blocking at all, but makes it impossible to see details inside or outside. You can discern movement on the other side of the window, but that is about all. It was super easy to install, just follow instructions. I was glad to get rid of the curtains I had hanging there. Really loved the dark brown it almost looks black which I wanted close to anyways. The detail is so pretty, and it is a better alternative to curtains because I wanted more natural light. I’m ordering more! Only thing I’m skeptical about is how long it will stay but so far so good after two days.

It won't make rainbows in a window that does not receive direct sunlight and there always seems to be very small bubbles that you cant get rid of and some times the corners and edges do not want to lay flat but this is the second time I have bought this and it works really well! It's easy enough to install and comes off super easily without leaving any residue. I recommend measuring your windows and then cutting the film on a cutting mat using an exacto knife or a rotary cutter and then pull off the backing on the piece you cut and then put it up in the window. Used this for a garage window that used to have mini blinds, but they got covered in dead bugs and spider webs..So I've used cling film before-This is the NON-ADHESIVE type, which is far superior to the type with glue, in my opinion.. This cuts relatively easy, but there is not a guide on the release paper, like there is on say shelf liner and perhaps some window films..Also, the privacy is more like semi-private as you can see things behind the film and in a room with lights on when it' s dark outside, you can see a person, but they are somewhat obscured....So if you need total privacy, this film doesn't provide it.... You need to be careful in cutting this however, and not cutting it too small, as you can leave gaps along the sides, bottom or top...Better to leave it slightly larger, then apply it and cut it, although if you can cut it precisely before applying it, that is best...Cutting it when it's on the window isn't too easy..Even with a brand new razor knife blade, the film is grabbed/dragged by the blade and you can also cut an edge so it comes out jagged looking...And you'd be surprised how much you can see through a tiny gap...I wish they'd offer to custom cut films like this, so all you have to do is peel the release sheet and apply to the window... Tools Needed: Glass Cleaner to clean the window first and perhaps a glass scraper to remove spots of various crud that may be on the glass.. Spray bottle of water/soap to spray soapy water on the window and the back of the film Plastic putty knife, preferably a 3-4" wide one, with a thin towel laid on top of it and rubber banded in place...This is for smoothing out the film, pushing the soapy water and bubbles to the edges of the film to be released...And it works really really well...I would not recommend doing it with a bare putty knife as it may grab the film instead of gliding along it...
