I have wanted a rack for the top of my Jeep for some time now and necessity being the mother of Amazon purchases: I ordered and just received my WILDROAD Roof Rack Cargo Basket, Upgraded 4” Fence Car Roof Basket with Extension, 64"x 39"x 4" version today, and I couldn’t be more impressed! The entire experience, from unboxing to assembly, was a breeze. It took me only about ten minutes to put the rack together, and everything fit together seamlessly; I laid out the four sections, brought the middle section together with an effortless fit. Then brought the front and the rear sections to the middle section - no effort, no forced alignment - it simply all fit together. The holes lined up perfectly, and the supplied screws were more than enough—one extra included, which is always a nice touch. The assembly process was incredibly straightforward and could easily be completed by one person in under 15 minutes. Because there was no struggle with fitting parts or needing any adjustments, it was a hassle-free experience. I have to admit, I didn’t take any photos of the assembly because it went together so quickly that I didn’t even think to grab my camera before I was finished! Once assembled, the rack looks amazing—streamlined, sturdy, and sleek. It’s a solid, well-built piece of equipment that feels like it’ll stand the test of time, and it really adds a great look to my vehicle. When it stops snowing I'll see about a picture of it on the Jeep. A quick note on the scuffs mentioned in other reviews: Yes, there were some very minor scuffs on mine as well, but they do not expose any bare metal, and most of them came off with just a quick wipe from a cloth. These types of marks are typical with shipping and handling, and I honestly don’t think they detract from the overall quality of the product. If you’re expecting perfect cosmetic condition, you might be disappointed, but if you’re after a well-built, functional, and great-looking rack, you won’t regret it. In summary, I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. The WILDROAD Roof Rack is easy to assemble, looks fantastic, and is clearly built to last. We purchased the Wildroad Roof Rack Cargo Basket for our 2024 RAV4 Adventure Series. It was very easy to install, is well made, and was packaged exceptionally well. I also think it looks great on the RAV too! We had read some reviews about noise, however we didn't really notice anything until we hit about 85mph, and even then, it wasn't very noticeable. I DID notice noise when we were traveling through extremely windy areas, however, we hear that on the roof racks on our big trucks too when it is windy. It is what it is. This roof rack will allow us to easily carry fuel, chairs, anything we can ratchet down when we go camping or overlanding!! We love it. ... show more

We’re quite pleased with this product combo so far. Tested it out on our first camp trip this weekend on our 2020 4Runner SR5 Premium and it worked great! The installation was not too difficult, although I will say that as far as the bolt options go, we’d prefer the option to have the bolt end facing down, but it was extremely difficult to install that way. So we went with the other option to have them facing up, but were concerned about the rough bolt end tearing the bag or anything else we put up there, so I bought some rubber screw covers and put on them which appear to have stayed on with our recent trip. We also sprayed the basket with Rustoleum just to be sure to withstand rain/rust, as the sealant provided was too cumbersome to apply to all the joints, etc. The bag is great! Kept everything dry as we had some rain on this trip. Having 6 ties is helpful, too, though the smaller ones are more tedious/tiresome to tighten. The only other suggestion is to make a slightly larger bag for storing the cargo bag when not in use, as it’s pretty much impossible to fit it back into that after it’s been used. The box it was all shipped in was torn quite a bit, also, exposed some parts, but thankfully no bad damage or missing pieces. Overall, though, we’re quite pleased. I like this rack- it has held up well. Instructions and videos are helpful in using this to its fullest. Dimensions are good and looks great on our 2022 Toyota Highlander.

    • Almost perfect; the joints are very fragile

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this rack to carry more during our camping trips. It's mounted on top to carry all the bulky things like sleeping bags, cots, tent, etc. Assembly was pretty straight forward. You really don't need the instructions but there is a Youtube video to walk you through it if necessary Pro: Plenty of room. It's a very large rack. Covers almost the entire roof of my MDX. Con: the joints look very weak. Since this carrier needs to be assembled from various pieces, they provide a small tube to cover the connections. That tube doesn't really do much more than cover the connections. I can easily rock in around so it seems to provide no additional support. I've uploaded a video to show you. I think every other rack is similar if you need to assemble it. Overall: Maybe get a smaller single unit rack that doesn't need to be assembled. I don't know how well this will hold up in the long term. ... show more
