It's easy to assemble and durable. Fits snug inside the receiver (doesn't rattle) side rails easily fold up and down and held in place w supplied snap pins. My only gripe is that the reflector stickers fell right off and got lost during first use.

Just received this and put it together. It was simple to do but one thing for the manual would be to include the tools that would be needed to assemble. Most of the bolts require 17mm wrench and socket. Large bolt needs a 24mm wrench and socket which most people do not have in a normal tool set. Was simle to build and stores easily against a wall. The bag that was included is well made. Only thing I could add here would be to have the ability to lock the zippers. I know that it is fabric and can be cut but at least a lock would keep the honest people out. ... show more

We purchased this hitch carrier right before a family vacation. So far so good. We’ve had it for about 3 weeks and I’m still using on car to pick up animal feed and gardening items. That being said, the main reason why I’m only giving it 4 stars is because it started rusting immediately. I do want to mention the carrier came with a dent which is a bummer but we were leaving the following day. The red stickers that come with it for visibility fell off immediately, while my husband was assembling the carrier. We had to super glue them but that wasn’t a deal breaker for us. Took this on a road trip- 9 hours each way. Even though it was completly sealed, one suit case seemed a little damp- no idea how any water got through that cargo bag. We were able to fit one medium suitcase, one domestic carryon and two international sized carry ons in there. Seemed very sturdy. Easy to fold up. All parts felt very sturdy including the bag, which despite some reviews, was totally waterproof even through a large rainstorm. Took this on a 16 hr round trip with 300+ lbs and no issue. This folding platform has been a real boon to my gardening projects allowing me to carry additional supplies. Especially useful for bulky or messy materials. I will offer one caution. The stem that fit in my trailer hitch is too long and after several thousand miles of use it failed while carrying less than half.its stated capacity. Good company though, they offered immediate replacement three months after purchase. I was leaving town and needed it sooner so had purchased a replacement. Company without hesitation refunded entire purchase price. I had the new stem shortened by 1.5" to allow a shorter stem between hitch and platform. I can still open my hatchback with the platform down and railings up. I also had a metal shim added to the stem resulting in a much better fit and less "chatter" while in use. I think this will allow for less stress on the steel. This is a good product for the price. It is well packaged and shipped well. The company responded quickly and well to my problem. We did, however, purchase an additional stabilizer for the hitch so that we had almost no vibration or sway.
