overall easy to install. 6 inch down rod is only good for 8 foot ceilings. If you have a 9 or 10 foot you will want to get a 12 inch (9 foot) to 18 inch for 10 -11 foot ceiling. Luckily I was replacing a brass fan so I used the 12 inch I had on me. Over all seems to be decent. Balanced well so I did not need to balance after installing. ... show more

The fan is nice and quiet, it does not come with a remote through Amazon but we’re were able to get one for this fan through Home Depot which was great since we have high ceilings. The fan blades are also darker color wood on one side and lighter wood on the other so you can choose what blades you want to show. ... show more

did not use the supplied light kit, but do need a cover for the wire housing that is attached to the motor assembly. the cover that came with the fan has the light sockets attached to it, so therefore cannot use. should come with a alternative cover if not using the lights.
