If you have any experience in welding you know this has the potential to be disastrous and a waste of money. I found that this thing actually works fairly well. I was looking for something that could be mobile. Not crazy about the 110v only, but at this price point and size you really can't ask for dual voltage. It's SMALL. I mean, really small. Cables are good, about what you would expect on a larger stick welder. Chucked up a 6011 and went to town on some 3/16 mild steel. You aren't going to penetrate that, but I figured if I could see heat marks on the other side, I would at least feel comfortable fixing fences with it. Actually performed pretty well. You aren't building a chassis or putting a boom back on a crane with this thing, but if you're looking for something that will stick fence pipes together-- this works. I was able to run it off the 20A 110v plug on my generator, so this fits the bill for my purposes. Throw the generator and this welder in the bucket of my tractor, and it's a pipeliner. Albeit a very weak and small pipeliner, it will get the job done. ... show more

I have welded before with a gas welder (which I loved), this is my first time with an electric welder and it was interesting. The device itself is pretty lightweight but seems durable. The kit I think is pretty good, it came with almost everything you would need to get started welding: gloves and even protection for your eyes. The only thing it didn't come with was starter metal so I had to order that separately. This is a great electric welder for any beginner and for all light projects around the house or artwork. It wont work and I wouldn't recommend it for anything heavy duty or for someone wanting something fancy schmancy. This is a functional beginner friendly welding machine and I love it. ... show more

I was surprised at how light the welder is, and only about the size of a lunchbox. I used it with some 2011 3/32 rod and it works well. A great light duty 110v welder. The cords are heavy duty, better than expected. The only thing I found strange was the digital readout. It would go from 20 to 200 like it supposed to, but a few stops in-between the readouts it would show 666. But just keep turning the dial and everything was back on track and working well. Maybe just the welder I got, but overall it works great for a fast light duty portable welder. Well worth the price. ... show more

This mini stick welder is about the size of my grade school lunchbox. This little thing works for lite duty stick welding repairs. The unit performed well. I'm now using it to desulfate batteries. The unit has is working well at this point. I'd recommend for lite duty stick welding only.

I have never welding a single thing in my life. There have been occasions when I would have liked to repair using a spot-weld, but never had the equipment to do it. Well, I made my first ever weld using this handheld welder. A weld came apart on my (steel) miter-saw stand, and after a little prep work, and a few deep breaths, I managed to make a passable repair. Not gonna win any welding beauty awards, but it’s holding. Btw, mine did not come with any welding sticks, so I ordered some 1/8”. Will probably never use all of these in my lifetime. I am a newbie to stick welding. I don’t have any big projects or welding requirements, just simply stick light iron back together. The YesRight welder fit the bill perfectly for my needs. It is easy to start a weld without sticking as I’ve experienced with expensive machines. The unit is VERY light and easy to store so it doesn’t take up a lot of real estate in my shop. I also like the digital read out to adjust the power. A friend of mine has a similar welder with not read out. It is difficult to get the right setting and be able to repeat it.
