The welding mask gloves and chipping hammer brush that it comes with are garbage. But I understand why they had to throw them in there for safety. I'm also glad those add-ons didn't cause the welder to be too expensive. It also came with a couple of little 3/32 6010 rods. Those are great because they were able to prove that the welder actually works before I crack open my case of 7018 1/8 inch rods. The welder works great with 3/32 rods, but can't really handle the 1/8 rods.... even at Max amps. I should have known that, but I wish somebody let me know ahead of time. All in all, this welder works extremely well for it how compact it is. But you should only use 3/32 rods with it. ... show more

This small welder machine is really out of my league! It's smaller than any other welder I've ever used, which is just perfect for me to pick up and work with one hand. And it functions perfectly! It comes with a full range of tools, which is great for beginners who are just getting started. This welder will work well for 6011 or 7018 weld cai! The display is a great way to show the current current, which makes it very easy to adjust while I'm welding. I took a piece of 1/8th and tried to weld it, and it was very easy to get a perfect weld! ... show more

    • A great small starter welding machine for beginners and small projects.
This is a really nice little welding unit. Its very lightweight and portable. Super good for people who want to dip their toes into welding or have small projects around the house they need to do. While I appreciate them "including" a welding mask and gloves....they are pretty awful and honestly weren't worth including. You are likely going to want to buy separate ones that are a bit more robust. But the welding unit itself is great. I also would love if it came with a simple case that could store everything. I'd prefer that over the gloves and mask. But these are minor gripes. For the money, this is a great little welder. ... show more

This is a decent entry level stick welder at a decent price. It's very easy to strike an arc and hold a nice bead. It is very compact and portable, and running at 120 volts means you can take it to the work instead of the other way around. I had no problem filling a 1/16" gap in a 3/16 butt joint. The welding leads are fairly short, but that isn't a problem because the welder is so compact. The only negative I found with it is that the electrode holder's cable inlet could use some deburring to prevent abrading the cable jacket (see picture). Update: Later the same evening, I tried out a similar priced/sized welder to compare the two. While the other welder looked a lot fancier, the Hot Start and Arc Force function of this welder was noticeably superior of the two. All things were equal, including my test welds, and this was much easier to start and hold an arc. ... show more

The 110V ARC Welder has been a fantastic addition to my shop. As someone who enjoys tackling DIY projects around the house, I’ve found this welder to be incredibly user-friendly, even for someone like me who isn’t a pro. The hot start and arc force features make it easy to strike an arc, and once you get going, the arc stays nice and stable, which really boosts my confidence while working.     • Very useful welding tool especially for beginners.
I watched a few tutorials about welding so all I needed were the tools so I ordered this. My employer does not need the services of a welder daily or even weekly but occasionally she does because it is cheaper to hire someone to repair some things than to buy new ones. It took a few tries to get the hang of it and no I don't do the same quality job the professional did but I saved my employer $500 in charges for repairing kitchen equipment and that got me a raise. This is not hard to use and is relatively inexpensive, a good investment for occasional projects. I highly recommend this welding tool. ... show more

First few times I tried to use this I couldn’t strike an arc. After messing with the settings and the size of my workpiece (ended up with two nails I finally struck an arc. It could have been user error as the instructions on this aren’t very good or maybe the machine couldn’t handle the larger material. Second thing of note, do yourself a favor and immediately trash everything that comes with this; gloves, goggle/helmet, wire brush. They are completely useless. I got myself a low end auto darkening helmet and real double insulated leather gloves before I even took this thing out of the box. Overall this is probably for the intermediate welder who needs a portable machine. I wouldn’t say it’s best for someone learning, and certainly not for a professional. ... show more
