He loves it. I haven't transferred any pictures off the device so couldn't tell you the actual photo quality but he is enjoying taking the pictures. Big plus that it is waterproof and he can take pictures in the pool.

The camera came in gift packaging. The build quality is quite good for the price. The size of the camera is nice light for kids. I like the easy interface as it should for a use by novice like a kid and gives decent photos. Also has a lot of shooting modes and effects which is nice. As described the pictures do look better on computer. For the price point, this camera has it all!!!! It takes great photos, you can take it underwater(it really is waterproof!), it does videos. The zoom is decent. The battery lasts for quite a while and with the included cord it is easy to charge. And it really does come with a big memory card. Just took one for each of my kids to Hawaii for snorkeling and beach days and just the trip in general. Took a ton of great photos and videos above and below water. Didn’t run out of space for the whole week. And unlike some other reviewers, I had a very easy time transferring all the files to my Mac. Just copy from one device to the other. No program needed. I did make sure to rinse the whole camera after every time it was in water. Then also pressed all the buttons to squeeze the water out every time. Also would open the battery compartment and let it air dry. Water would get to the edges of it, but never all the way in. But wanted to give it air just in case. Just a note-make sure the setting is on Auto for type of picture- one got put on portrait in the settings and the pics came out very grainy. Now that being said there are a few cons: 1. The audio in the videos is not that great. Sometimes down right hard to hear what was said, above or below water. 2. The pictures look much better on the computer than they do on the built in screen. 3. You must take your time taking the picture. If you move before the sound, the picture will be smeared or out of focus. Not that it is super slow, just not as quick as a phone. ... show more
