We like the shade, but I am not impressed with the base or the price. The wall plate with the mount arms was too long and I had to take up the slack with two washers on each side, about 3mm. The base plate arms were also loose, l had to tighten them up. As for the brightness I have not tried other bulbs, so no input into that. ... show more

    • PLACEMENT IS IMPORTANT
IF YOU WANT TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFECT OF THE STAIN GLASS YOU NEED TO MOUNT THIS FIXTURE BELOW EYE LEVEL OTHER WISE YOU WILL SEE THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LIGHT AND THAT'S NOT TO ATTRACTIVE. I PUT A HIGH BRIGHTNESS LED BULB IN TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFECT OF THE STAINED GLASS COLORS

These lights are gorgeous they look beautiful on either side of my bed, they were installed for reading lights and I put the switch right next to one of them so I can turn on and off in bed, I love them!

    • Shade is heavy and beautiful but dark.
The lamp shade is beautiful. My only complaint is that it is not as bright as we hoped. So it's a great decoration in a room but it's not so helpful as a "light to read by."

These wall lamps are gorgeous, BUT, you can not get enough light to read by. We bought them to be on each side of our bed so we would not have space taken up on our nightstands, however they now are just pretty accent lights and we can't read in bed. $250 ea,plus $20 extra for each cord cover we're nearly at$600 for something we can't use as intended. If you put a higher watt bulb in there it gets the lamp blistering hot. Sorry, can't recommend.......UPDATE: I took away another star because nearly $600 for two stricly decorative lamps is WAY too much. I have been back and forth to the hardware store to try brighter bulbs but they only over-heat the lamp dangerously and the design of the lamp puts the bulb right up next to the glass and a higher lumen count also over-heats the base where the bulb screws in. Also, if your book is even slightly out of the light shade area....again you cannot read. Your book would need to be held up close under the lamp to catch the light. Soooo, sadly they are going back as unusable...... ... show more

    • Lovely lamp!
I have it near my jewelry and it provides adequate light in that area. The shade is not glass but it is heavy and no one would guess it is not glass. I read reviews before I purchased it that the hardware for installing was not adequate, so I did not use it. I used longer screws.

    • Assembly is terrible
This lampshade is so beautiful and the hardware is really heavy duty. The dimmer switch knob works perfectly and is great to use this as a nightlight. The shipper sent it immediately and it arrived in perfect condition. Now for the downside. The assembly has the arm at an angle and there’s nothing, not one thing you can do about it! I was desperate for a light in this one location so I went ahead and drilled holes in my new cabinets and put this over my kitchen sink. To help offset the obvious poor manufacturing on the arm I have shimmed up one side of the beautiful lampshade so you can’t see how badly the arm was assembled so that it does not hang straight but comes out an angle from the wall. The other thing I did to help hide the defect was I bent the arm back toward the window and then back toward the room so it has a deep V in it .
