Thickness is never as advertised but these are close. They are SO SOFT. My kitties love these. I bought several for kitty walk in closet space -made- kitty recovery zone. My kitty had surgery on his broken leg and must be confined for 6-8 weeks. So there’s 4 bed spaces in there and he loves these! So do I when I have to lay in there with him for an hour and a half. I, and my dog, love this bed. Fits great in her crate, is easy to vacuum or launder when it's dirty. It is plenty thick and plush for my 55lb Pittie. She seems to be comfortable snuggled up on it. I would purchase this item again if need be.

This is a quality, very soft dog bed that fits perfectly into my dog’s crate. Unfortunately when I washed it recently, it got so heavy with water that my washer couldn’t spin it dry- the machine kept coming up with a code that meant it was an unbalanced load. So the water couldn’t be spun out of it and I couldn’t squeeze the water out of it so I had to put it in the dryer for more than an entire day of drying. It would have been nicer if there was a cover because the foam takes forever to dry! Otherwise it’s a nice dog bed. ... show more

I love this crate bed and so do my dogs. It is stuffed perfectly so it's thick and cozy- not like some of the other beds found on Amazon where the photo shows a thick bed and you receive a piece of cheap fabric with about as much stuffing as a sock puppet. I have the 47" x 29". Our lab mix only uses the crate if we have to leave the house (separation anxiety). The crate is in the family room and ever since we replaced the last bed with this bed, he's going into his crate to lie down when we are sitting right here in the family room. He loves it that much! Even one of our small dogs walked in and lied down, which she never does. Another reason I'm so impressed and so pleased is the ease of washing the bed. A lot of the beds you will find here on Amazon mention how easy it is to unzip the cover and throw it in the wash. Inevitably it would shrink, and become a big pain to place back on the bed. This bed doesn't need to be unzipped or re-stuffed. The whole bed goes right in the wash. Wash it in cold, tumble dry low, and you're done. To take it a step further, I was worried that it would leave the stuffing uneven and I would have to spend an hour reconfiguring all the stuffing. Nope! It came out absolutely perfect, I didn't have to re-shift the stuffing from outside of the bed at all. It was absolutely perfect and even fluffier than it was before I washed it. I'm very quick to review lousy dog beds that are made with crappy materials, that are too flimsy, that aren't stuffed enough, that get ruined in the wash even though they're "washable". Then there are the ones that are good enough, but they are just that- good enough. Comfy enough, they serve their purpose. I don't write reviews on those. This bed deserves a great review. Trying to get the dog to sleep on the couch less, so I bought him a raised bed and this mattress. It seems to be working. Yay! I didn't have high hopes. The mattress cost air $17 on a sale but had really good reviews. Now I see why. It was worth the price and then some. I was planning to wash this before giving it to the dog but he was not having that. As soon as I opened it, he was on it. It didn't even fully fluff and he claimed it. Had it about 2 weeks now and he hasn't chewed it up, so that is impressive, also. He destroyed up his $120 memory foam bed in no time. Overall, I am really pleased. It seems comfortable for him, it's soft, quiet, fits the raised bed that i bought, and seems to be a quality mattress as a tiny cost. I really can't get over the price. Definitely a 5 star mattress at that price. I pay more for a dog toy. Seems very durable as he has not destroyed it - not even close. We have a Rottweiler that loves to chew. I am super impressed with this mattress and might buy another just to have on hand should anything happen to this one. ... show more

My large dog (Bernese) was used to a hammock style car carrier before we switched to a hard bottomed car carrier that covers the back seat of our Rav4 and she was always slipping, even with small carpets in the back. We bought the 47" x 29" bed and it fits perfectly across the backseat and provides enough cushion and stability for her to be comfortable for long road trips. Very comfy bed, very plush.
