So many people are complaining that this bed only lasts a year. For the cost, a year is pretty good. I wash mine weekly (I have 2) and it is still in decent condition. I have alsio found that a crib sheet fits perfectly on the "large" size bed. This way I can change the sheet and it looks great all the time. It takes a little wrestling to get the cover on but not as bad as some of the reviews indicate. It doesn't say "water-proof" in the description but it is resistant to stains and such. If you have a dog with incontinence (one of mine had an issue for awhile) you can simply wrap the foam portion in a trash bag and put it back in the cover. The cover is washable. ... show more

My wife was looking for a padded dog bed that was easy to wash. She saw this one on sale and decided to buy it for our old healer. It arrived rolled up along with the cover to put on. My wife had no trouble unrolling the foam bed and putting on the cover which zips up around the bed. One side of the cover is soft and a little fluffy and the other is smooth. It looks like the photo in the listing, and the removable cover means that it could be washed should the pooch decide to roll in something fragrant. The "scalloped" material gives a comfortable place for the resting pooch, and it looks good in my office. I did open the package and wonder, "this looks like a piece of foam." I bought this like 6 months ago. Sorry for the delay, but, I had a 70 pound - now a 100 pound puppy!! And he wrestles his mattress almost daily. He’s not gentle. He bites the cover, scratches it into a fold, slams it into the wall. It is still in pristine shape. Except for one small grease stain from chewing a bone on it. My doxie loves this but it is kinda firm and not the usual plush dog bed with lots of poly-fill. This does seems to be comfy for her but because it's so dense she is less inclined to get on it than her more plush beds.

This is my third one. I foster Rottweilers and have a Border Collie. The dogs I foster are often in poor shape and these beds are used well. They have been peed on, vomited on and more. Pull the cover off and throw it in the wash and it comes out like new! Plus the waterproof inner lining really works! I have this bed and two others that are different Bedsure beds and all look fabulous after 1-2 years of use. Easy to vacuum clean too or use a hand carpet cleaning machine instead of throwing in the wash. No struggling to put covers on either as they go on easily. I've had this bed just over a year. I had thought it would do well with the quality of materials used but it hasn't. A month after purchase I washed it as I usually do with all the beds. After that first washing, the cloth covering became matted looking and pilled like a sweater would. That month I had given the dogs some of those huge cow bones and of course they took them to their beds several times a day. The bones left tiny white crumbles behind that were rubbed into the material. I assumed they would come off during washing. Nope. Not only were those little crumbles stuck in the material but every little stick and piece of leaf was caught in the matted material, too. The appearance is that of a years-old bed that never gets washed. It looks bad. I even tried using one of those sweater de-fuzzers on it. Didn't help. So I finally took a look at it today and decided I can't stand it in the house another week. I'm here shopping for another bed I've bought before and like much better but I thought I'd better warn others about this issue.
