It might work if you had 6-8” firewood. But doesn’t work for 12-14” firewood. The firewood just slides on the blade and doesn’t work. It would need to have a longer piece mounted to the wall to work properly. Don’t waste your money on it.

The handle snapped off on the first use. Cheaply made, DO NOT RECOMMEND. Now I have the hassle of taking it down leaving four new holes in my woodshed, and taking the trouble to return it.

After only using the splitter 3x, the handle snapped off from the shock of the hammer strike...I WAS NOT striking the handle with the hammer either, just to be clear.

    • Well made…not well thought out.
It’s too short to work with 16 inch logs. Maybe 8-10, but not 16. It’s not very sharp and the hammer is kinda cheap. Great concept over the sheet metal bolted together version, but very poor execution in design.

This thing looked great but it was weak, dull, not very robust, and it broke the third time I was using it. Going back to using the reliable hatchet, can’t go wrong and it doesn’t break from being used!

Save your money on this product. Use a hatchet for kindling and a maul to split the log. This product is useless!!!
