  • Why buy a gas saw?
We used this after a big storm on our farm and we have always used gas saws in the past. Problem is now we go so long between uses a gas saw never works when I need it. Didnt know how well a battery electric would work but boy was I surprised. I would recommend ditching the .043 blade first thing and put an Oregon .050 bar and chain but other than that WOW is all I can say. First thing to cut was a tree at the base with a diameter of 30 or so inches. Cut that like it was butter and many other cuts and only used on bar on a 12ah battery. We bought 3 batteries but unless your doing a ton of cutting off grid start out with 2. If your not doing much cutting, the one battery may be enough. Rarely does a product far exceed my expectations but this one did. Farm and Ranch approved. ... show more

  • Excellent product now that I found a battery charging solution.
This is a perfect chainsaw for occasional use. I mostly need it to clear limbs after storms and such. It is strong and light weight and rips through anything I am likely to need to cut. The only issue was the battery life. I know from experience that lithium batteries will degrade if left plugged in all the time. They also degrade if left unplugged to completely dead. I found a great device on Amazon called Charge-O-Matic. It's a long term timer that I plug my Milwaukee battery charger into. I set it to come on every 60 days for 12 hours. That is enough to fully charge the battery so its ready to go when I need it in an emergency, and the battery should last for years. ... show more

  • Great saw for my needs
First use was taking down a trunk of a 12" thick Redbud branch that was damaging an electrical box. I used the 8.0 battery from my M18 circular saw instead of the heavier 12.0 purchased with the Chainsaw. I was surprised by how easily the saw handled the 12" thickness of the redbud. I found it easy to handle and use. The 8.0 battery was not quite enough to finish the job, but I was happy with how many cuts I finished before needing a second battery. I have used 2 cycle saws before and much prefer this saw to the 2 cycle as I will only be doing yard cleanup and trimming with this and the 2 cycle has aloways been a PIA to drain before storing and starting. An older 16" electric chainsaw will be retired. I would not recommend this saw if you are going to be routinely cutting trees larger than 12-14 inches. It works fine on Redbud, Pine and other softwoods but I haven't tried it on oak or maple. I have a large Hackberry down in my yard and I will update this when I get around to cutting it up ... show more

  • Expensive But You Can't Beat Milwaukee
Obviously not the most budget friendly in the world but I've never regretted buying Milwaukee. The saw is no exception to that either 🤙
