First off I am not a professional barber, that being said I do cut my dad's, a couple of friends, and my own hair. These are absolutely great! These clippers seem like they will cut through any hair without a fuss(I can't be sure about ethnic hair but I believe the Magic Clip is made for that), I can zip through hair without slowing down and can be comfortable knowing that no stragglers will be left behind. The Magic Clip with its adjustable lever is perfect for fading, I gave my pop a fade and my mother loved it, so I take that as the ultimate approval and I even use it for balding my best friend and his dads hair. The Razor Edger is great for doing line ups, edge work(obviously), and for working around the beard. It comes with a dual hangar that rests on any cabinet door and I'm sure it will fit a plethora of other rigging to keep your clippers close by. It comes with one large comb, I rarely use it because I cut mostly short cuts but I picked up 2 decent combs at Sally's for a couple of bucks. It also comes with a small bottle of oil, actually mine came with 2 and 2 cleaning brushes, and although these clippers don't get hot super fast I do recommend picking up a can of Andis Cool Car Plus for quick cooling and lubrication. This set is also wonderful for doing self cuts, I have give myself a crew cut and because I was lazy a couple of weeks ago a simple buzz cut, it worked flawlessly for both. The single cord solution is also very handy and simple to use. I have also cleaned these and it was super easy. One very important thing is that I like to zero gap my clippers and the Magic Clip is the easiest Fade Clipper I have done this with(it should be noted that most wahl pro fades are easier than other brands in this regard). Both clippers are capable of getting super close but the Razor Edger triumps at this task straight out of the box. I really can't say enough good things about this kit, I'm really glad my old barber recommended them to me, he was going to use his Pro discount at Sally's so I could get thim at his price, but I found them on here for about $30 cheaper, and they was on my porch in 2 days. If your an at home barber like me you can't go wrong with this kit and I would even venture to say this would be good for anyone from a mom wanting to save money cutting your kids hair to the most seasoned master barber. One thing I would recommend is getting either the Wahl Case that is sold separately or getting another way of storing/carrying your kit, I use a 5 dollar tool bag I got for my drill at wal-mart(my drill now is in a bigger bag for all the accessories I've accumulated), just be sure to put your blade guards on when storing them, which brings me to the only con I have for these: The blade guard for the Razor Edger will fall off very easily, I remedied this with a piece of Scotch Tape. My phone is broke or I would include pics but mine look just like the picture of the box. P.S. For anyone who wants to know I did take apart the Magic Clip and it does indeed come with the V9000 electric motor. ... show more

Got these since haircut prices are crazy so I might as well learn. today i tested them out and the clipper and trimmer cut so smoothly. In the pictures I was able to cut close to skin and fade without issue (i am learning so my cut isn’t close to perfect). I’m updating this review while I see how well they last in the next year but so far I highly recommend. Edit: 1-1/2 year follow-up review. I’ve been using these same exact clippers and trimmers since I’ve bought them and they are holding up nicely. I frequently oil them usually after two cuts and they still cut sharp although not as sharp when brand new, but pretty normal considering I cut my hair every 2-3 weeks. Clippers do get hot quicker over time, not very significantly but it’s noticeable. One thing I did forget to mention when I got them is the number 5 guard didn’t come included but I’ve managed to pull it off without it. Great overall ... show more

GREAT TRIMMER FOR SHAVING!!! I ordered these trimmers because I wanted another pair of trimmers and also because in the process of trying to sharpen my Andis T-Outliner blades I ended up making them dull and unable to cut. Since I had to order new blades I figured why not pick up another trimmer as well. I have to say these trimmers are great, powerful and compact. I have read reviews that people say the hump I the trimmer body is awkward, but I have no issues with it at all. The trimmers come with a zero gapping tool which I did use before I even began to use the trimmers because I already knew I wanted the blades as close as I could get them for shaving with them. The shave is great and extremely close. I also ordered the larger T-Outline blades for these trimmers and have set them but not used them as of yet because I am pleased with the original blades at the moment. I always use Andis Cool Care Plus or Whals spray for clippers that I had already before every use and it keeps them cutting good. As for a comparison between these trimmers and the Andis T-Outliners I think they are both great for my purpose of use which is for shaving and edge ups. I have to say I like these Whal Hero trimmers for shaving more than the Andis T-Outliner even after I put the new blades. I'm no barber but I would say that either trimmer you go with will provide you the results you are looking for with the proper adjustment of the blades and keeping them oiled with Andis Cool Care Plus. If the price difference between these trimmers and the Andis has you second guessing don't be fooled by how much cheaper they are because they are a GREAT PAIR OF TRIMMERS and also would be great for traveling vice the Andis due to size. ... show more

Very nice little trimmer, smaller than expected and louder than anticipated when compared to its size. 3 little guides are nice and fit snug so they won't fall of but not as versatile for beard trimming since spacing is minimal (0.5", 1", 1.5"), I imagine value would come in for fades. Blade alignment tool is indispensable for non-pro like me though it feels like it could break on a few thin points if not used with care. I wish it came with some pouch for accessories and that there is 1/2 gear for less vibes. Blades are so close that you can shave you face with it and then just do a quick pass with a razor. Because it doesn't have the mesh cover it is more aggressive than avg. beard shaver so it requires more attention if you going to shave with it. If you have a strong beard or don't shave as often then it is also great for 'quick pass' before you shave. As someone mentioned, after a few weeks of use (cleaning and oiling) the blades have settled in and don't nick the skin. Now, it is much more lip and nose friendly when maintaining a clean line on your beard & stash. With some practice my sideburns and beard lines are looking like I walked out of the barber shop. After a few months of use, keeping in mind that I am not a barber, this feels like a very good quality tool that I can use for maintaining the look between the cuts. ... show more
