I was skeptical of how well these would work seeing that it relies on a pin staying in the correct spot, but it actually does! The tension from the plastic bending keeps the pin in place and has yet to pop out unintentionally! What I like most about how these work is that they are super easy to 'unlatch' - I like to keep my bedroom door cracked at night so my cats can go in and out as desired without them swinging my door wide open and the last system I used broke very easily. My only concern is how these hold up over time... will the plastic crack or lose tension after being bent for so long? Only time will tell, but at this price, I would not hesitate to buy them again if needed! ... show more

New puppy + kitty's litter box = poop scented dog breath. I needed a way to keep the dog out of the bathroom while making sure the cat could get to his privy, and this door latch holder looks like it will do the trick. it's an insanely simple design, and it works. The door holder is a stiff piece of plastic that goes around the doorknob on the inside of the room you're protecting. The plastic has several holes (like a belt for holding up your pants) and a bullet-like cylinder screws into holes in the plastic to adjust how large an opening you want to allow. The "bullet" then goes in the hole in the door jamb where the strike plate is, catching on the strike plate. Between the tension created by the curving plastic piece and the rim of the "bullet" catching on the metal, the door is held open the amount you choose. It's easy to pop the "bullet" out of the strike plate when you want to use the door. I've only been testing it about a week now, and it's working great, but since it is plastic, there's no telling if it will last indefinitely or eventually crack or quit working for some other reason. But at two for $15, it won't break the bank if you need to replace them at some point. I doubt these would be effective for keeping toddlers out of off-limit rooms, but it is perfect for protecting your cat's privacy. ... show more
