The media could not be loaded. Vogewood's Cat Door Latch Holder is an excellent solution for those needing a door propped open to a specific amount. Especially if renting and are trying to minimize any repair work that will be needed later. As advertised, the available settings should accommodate most cats as long as the door opening is not immediately next to a wall or large piece of furniture. What I like ~ • Very simple to use. Easy on, easy off, easy to adjust. No tools needed. Can set it up from either side of the doorway. • The 8 adjustment holes are about 3/4s of an inch apart and the gap in the door ranges from 'too small, even for kittens' up to 'small children might fit through'. • Cat design is cute. When not in use, I can leave it hanging on the door knob like a hotel 'do not disturb' card and it doesn't appear out of place. What I do not like ~ • We have a very active 40 lb. dog and while playing with the cat, she was able to push on the door hard enough to pop a rivet out, ruining that specific distance setting. Still think it is a very good solution at a good price but it just isn't sturdy enough for my needs. • The metal latch when set into a metal jamb can make a lot of noise when the door is jostled. If it is very windy and windows are open on both sides of the door, this might keep you up at night. ... show more

I wanted this to be the solution to letting the cat in but keeping the kids out of my room. Unfortunately, the way this is installed, my 3 year old had no problem getting past it. If you just want it to prop a door open, it works very well. Would not recommend for keeping anything out though.
