Well let’s start off mine is custom while building the stand I had a accident I tapped the pipe to hard and it went past the stopper in the tee fitting and I glued mine together to prevent leaks so I had to custom build my stand out of schedule 40 pipe and I increase the height between levels but after my accident the growth rate of my plants is amazing faster than dwc I have been using it’s a set it and forget it kind of system almost easy for anyone to use. The plants look great they are healthy and growing quickly. I was Leary about buying because I have read the reviews about people having issues putting this together or missing parts well that was not my case the fit of the piping was tight all there and the instructions are step by step a 5 year old can build it and no leaks it’s amazing the only downside I have found is the foam seed starters they suck they don’t hold water I have soaked them twice and they are dry 2 days later so I’m using cotton balls right now until the rockwool arrives but the cotton balls are working amazing. ... show more

so I just recently got into the hydroponic/Aquaponics systems and read mixed reviews about this product but genuinely it’s worked really well for me so far. I didn’t have any leaks I know some people complained about that but I used a tip from someone in the comments where you lubricate the pipe ends with food safe oil (I used extra virgin olive oil) and it allowed me to slide the pipes into place no problem. There are little edges inside the pvc pieces and if you don’t push it all the way in to line it up I can see how some people would get leakage, the kit doesn’t come with zip ties so I’d recommend getting some large ones for extra support in keeping everything on the frame. Over all I’m happy with how the product came and would definitely recommend it to others and I will be ordering more. ... show more

Review for beginners: Ok here is my honest review of how well the product works. Lets start with the parts it comes with. Everything is PVC pipe which is no problem for hydroponics. You get the tier frame system, the main system, the pump, hose, and the foam blocks for planting your seedlings. You will need to buy your seeds and start them yourself on paper towels or whatever you choose. Do not start the seeds in the hydro system. You will need to buy a tote to put water in with a lid. Try to avoid clear containers. Mine is black with a lid. This prevents the UV grow lights from creating algae in your tote. You will fill it with water, place your pump in there and also make sure the downspout drain piece goes in as well. I drilled 2 holes through the plastic lid to make this work easily. You want to make sure to have a lid. For nutrients I used the Aerogarden solution. I grew romain, gourmet lettuce, spinach, kale, tomato, cucumber, green beans, and snap peas. Everything grew until the root systems became too large (about 2 months). The system started overflowing badly. Its not the systems fault, it was what I planted, and where i planted it. The elbow diameter for circulation is small. Roots clogged these up and cause the system to overflow. I would only recommend that you plant small leafy greens in this system. It is clearly not meant for larger root systems. Avoid planting in the holes that are closest to the ends of each pipe. You shouldnt have any problems after that. Im not mad at the product because it does work. You will just be very limited to what you can plant because the system will clog. Therefore If I want to fully utilize this system, Im going to have massive quantities of just leafy greens that would feed an army. I wish the circulation system for the elbows and drain were larger in diameter. ... show more

Bought 2 of these to install in a 4x4 grow tent with a 500w bar style led grow light. I hung them in the tent and ziptied them at the bottom to form a V and expose each rail to the light. Before assembly I added black shrinkwrap to exclude light and prevent algae growth. I also added the red plugs to block unused sites. Making the system perfectly level is key to uniform growth. Otherwise water levels would not be uniform from end to end resulting in dried out plugs. I started seeds in peat pellets not the silly sponges included. Plugged these into the rails 2 weeks before these pictures. I have Japanese Chijimisai and Spinach sprouting too. Very happy overall. The price was actually pretty cheap for what you get. Not exactly plug and play but perfect for a tinkerer like me. Highly recommend. ... show more

Where to start. Luckily I didn't experience any leaks but used PVC cement on all joints that would have water flowing. To the heart of the problems though: 1) The stand is not staggered meaning each "layer" of tubing sits level. The issue is that unless the individual pipes are EXACTLY level you will likely experience overflow somewhere within the 3 layers. You can see this in the included picture where one pipe constantly exhibits this. 2) The height of the stand does not allow for standard 5gal buckets to be used for the exit water supply unless you raise the entire assembly through some other means (ie: more modification). A smaller vessel might work but the reality is that the 108 version requires at least a few gallons or the reservoir will empty during use and dry-run the pump The only thing this product has been good for is real-world viewing of the basic assembly. Unfortunately since I used glue I am likely unable to return. Hopefully I can chop up this product and make something useful out of it. Save your cash, do research how to build a DIY unit, and go to the hardware store. I thought I was going to save money with this prefabricated product but it has been one of the worst purchases I've made in years. Your mileage may vary but be warned. ... show more
