  • Absolutely excellent...
I had third degree small burns and was prescribed silvadence sulphate. I had an allergic reaction to the creme and ordered this manuka honey to prevent infection. Recovery was slow but this product was worth every penny.

  • Smells great, soothing, healing, Manuka is miraculous.
For better or for worse, I don’t have any burns or sunburns to share with you right now. But I do think, from experience, that FirstHoney Manuka honey is miraculous. Two weeks ago (as I’m writing this), I had a run-in with a tree in my yard while trimming a large, dead limb. The injury gouged my forehead. It bled pretty badly (as head wounds do), but it was not a serious wound. I gave it a couple of days and consulted a doctor because it wasn’t healing well. You can see a sort of a Before photo—it was taken about two days after the accident. The doctor recommended a medicinal honey ointment. I had never heard of medicinal honey before. But I quickly bought a tube of FirstHoney Manuka Honey. I applied it as directed and put a large bandage over it. In just three days, the gash was almost healed! This current pic was taken a week later and you can hardly see a trace of it. I’m an older guy and I don’t necessarily heal all that quickly. (Also, a PhotoBooth closeup of my forehead in bad light is not a pretty thing.) I swear by this stuff now. You can see from the photo the consistency of this burn salve. It smells awesome, and just applying it to my skin (without a burn), it feels cooling and soothing. So—I’m sorry I don’t have a burn to show, but I am very impressed by this brand of Manuka honey. Note that Manuka is not the primary ingredient here, aloe is, and there are a couple of other natural ingredients in larger proportion, but because of my experience with that previous skin wound, I want this on hand for the many minor cooking burns I get, plus sunburn! The next time I get a burn, I’ll shoot it, treat it with this, and share more pictures. This is awesome stuff. ... show more

  • Manuka honey can work wonders...
This salve actually have a bit more use than burns and cuts. I got this for my boyfriend because he burns quite easily... but he's been lucky enough that he hasn't been out long enough to burn. I personally have not experienced any burs or cuts yet either, but I have applied this on my cracked skin and irritated skin. The salve ahd a water-gel consistency. On my dry, cracked skin, it absorbs well and the watery-gel seems to soften and soothe my skin and prevent more splitting. It does have a slight cooling sensation and the scent does not bother me at all... it reminds me of a cucumber skin cream i use. I'm also using this on irritated skin caused by heat rash along the back of my knee. I tend to scratch the heck out of my skin from bug bites, healed scabs, rashes, etc. After applying this, I actually don't feel the itch as much and I stopped scratching almost immediately. I feel that this water-gel creates a nice seal around the affected area and reduces the inflammation and my urge to exacerbate the wound. The decreased scratching may help me heal faster and reduce scarring too. This tube is rather pricy, but so is Manuka honey in general. A little bit goes a long way. A small dollup covers a nice surface area. I've had positive experiences with Manuka honey in the past when my dog received a puncture wound on her head. The wound healed a lot faster than other creams I tried. It helped with hot spots, irritated paws, bug bites, rashes, etc. With my dogs. Therefore, I was not surprised that this product can alleviate more than burns and cuts for humans. The combination with Aloe Vera helps with the cooling well too. I may end up replacing neosporin with this... ... show more

  • Love it
I use this for everything. I took this with me on a trip to a very warm humid climate and I had a horrid series of mosquito bites that had me going a little wild. This was immediately soothing and stopped the insanity. I have used it on a little burn I got taking a tray out of the air fryer and wow wow wow. Used it on irritated skin after an obnoxious facial cream left my cheeks red and inflamed. I love it. It’s so mild but so powerful. I recommend!!! ... show more

  • Soothing salve, good for minor scrapes also
I haven't had the opportunity to use this First Honey Burn salve on a burn yet thankfully, but burns do happen to me frequently. I did use this on a small cut that had no bleeding, it was like a paper cut done with a knife, I used this salve and covered it with a bandaid and the pain seemed to lessen. The next morning my cut felt better, no it wasn't healed. The ingredients in this salve are good, honey and sugar were often used for wounds years ago and still are today in some instances. Aloe and allantoin are also great for healing. ... show more

  • Unusual scent, but so full of ingredients beneficial to injured skin
I ordered this salve to have on hand for the next, there's always a 'next', time I burn my finger, hand or forearm while I'm attempting to cook. Fortunately, that hasn't happened since this burn salve arrived. So I can't give an opinion on the efficacy of the ointment on a burn. I can report that it has a unique scent. Imagine combining honey, rosemary, cucumber & aloe into one scent. That's what this smells like. The honey & rosemary predominate, but the cucumber & aloe sneak in there with lighter notes. It's not unpleasant, but it's not a combination I've ever experienced before. I suppose 'herbal' is true description, but without any grassy highlights. Since the Amazon description page doesn't include the complete list of included ingredients, I snapped a photo of the side of the product's box. You'll see that there's only one active ingredient listed - Allantoin. The Googler says, "Allantoin is a moisturizer to treat or prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin and minor skin irritations." Here are the common names of the other plants in the salve: Anthemis nobilis - Chamomile Argania Spinosa - Argan Cucumis Sativus - Cucumber Helianthus Annus - Sunflower Lavandula Angustifolia - English lavender Orysza Sativa - Rice Rosa Canina - Dog-rose Rosmarinus Officinalis - Rosemary All gentle, soothing, skin-friendly botanicals. Good stuff for minor burns! ... show more
