I bought this scar healing cream for my mom after she a had a partial parotidectomy in July 2024. After the 2 weeks post op follow-up (first picture), her surgeon instructed her to begin using the Mederma scar cream twice daily for 3-6 months, with applying SPF 50 sun screen on top of that layer when she knew she would be going and remaining outside for longer than 5 minutes. My mom followed this advice perfectly without fail, and now after 6 months in January 2025 (second picture), her scar has no darkening in pigment and simply appears as a natural skin fold. She is very happy that she stuck so well to the surgeon's advice, and after 2 tubes worth of cream, she will not have to order any more. Super pleased with her result! ... show more

    • Smoothes scars
My wife's surgery left horrible scars on both arms. The Mederma has made the scaring much less noticeable and softer to the touch. Pricey but worth it in my, and he's, opinion.

I had surgery on my face so I need to reduce the scar. Mederma gel worked really well for a while but then I found I needed the cream. It's dramatically reducing the scar. My eyes are really sensitive to any cream I use on my face so my eyes are i but I decided to keep using it. I'm glad I did. I need to reduce the scar and they small irritation to my eyes is no big deal. I highly recommend Maderma. It worked wonders on a surgical scar on my wrist too. ... show more

I’ve been using this for two months on a year-old burn, and I can already see improvement. The ointment has a nice smell and isn’t too greasy. However, I did experience some severe itchiness as a side effect.

The following is the same review I used for the Maderma PM: This review has no scientific research behind it but I believe that this Mederma in combination with the daily Maderma and a masager - (Muscle Roller for Muscles Deep Tissue/w Drawstring Gym Bag | Cellulite Remover Myofascial Massage Tool - Tennis Elbow Massager, Calf, Leg n Forearm Roller I High Density Foam Roller) - have worked wonders on the scar from my total knee replacement. After the wound was fully healed and I felt comfortable I could not accidentally open the wound, about eight weeks after the operation I began using the roller massager at night rolling it up and down from left to right and then back again twice moving it over about a half inch each time the whole length of the scar. Afterward I would rub in a very small amount of Maderma PM (about pea sized) the length of the scar and repeat with the regular Maderma in the morning. After about eight weeks now the scar is much less pronounced and is not unpleasant to look at. I'm impressed. ... show more

I tried it for 8 weeks and it DID make it a little lighter but the scar is still viable. i'm still using it and i hope it's just going to take 16 weeks to lighten my scar. i really don't think it will go away compleatley. it's worth the try.

This product is amazing if you have any kind of scars use it immediately it's worth a rep pending it is life-changing and a gift that I have a hard time putting into words I use it on my entire back from second and 3rddegree burns and skin graphs and using it four times it has drastically and Literally changed color texture and everything. No BS no them giving me money for saying a damn thing this is straight from my mouth for the love of God if you have a scar of any kind get Maderma it is absolutely amazing I would recommend it to any and everybody worth every penny any day

It works. Just know that this regular Mederma (the one without sunscreen) dries to a tacky, shiny crust. You can see it and feel it. It is working though. But you should also get the Mederma with sunscreen, which is a different formula and does NOT dry to the sticky shiny surface this regular Mederma does, it totally disappears and is a smooth slick almost invisible surface, never drying completely out like this one. You will need both, and will probably like the sunscreen one better as it is more comfortable and less visible. So get both and if you can afford it get the large tubes. ... show more
