Cut and used this hose to replace a damaged vehicle cold air intake hose. Was concerned that the under hood heat would damage this hose, but has held up well so far. Clamps are cheap, however. One stripped completely when installing

    • Surprisingly Good - Sturdy Vent Hose with good quality

Metal dryer vent from Lowe's was very flimsy and tore easily causing dryer to not dry well. I came on Amazon to find a replacement and there are tons of Chinese items. I ended up checking out virtually all of the options and landed on one that also had a coating on the outside to make it stronger. I can say that the plastic coating does exactly that: it helps control the hose while installing, has a good feel, and is sealed properly around the vent. My item came properly sized and it fit around both hose hookups. You'll notice reviews saying some of the hoses out there are too small which renders it unusable. Also I recommend getting clamps like the one below or something similar which makes installing the hose WAY easier and the cost of the clamp is less as well. -POWERTEC 70120 4 Inch Key Hose Clamp ... show more

    • Excellent for portable AC!

I am soooo disappointed... With my inability to macguyver anything close to this hose.. I mean, I even tried using similar materials, like mylar instead of foil, insulating with Amazon delivery envelopes and wrapping with the equivalent of Saran wrap.. and my portable air conditioner barely dropped down below 80.. so as I write this inmy room,which is a nice cool 66, at the moment, I at least enjoy my sense of failure in a nice, cool room . But hey, at least I didn't buy the stupid window kit . That's right, so e Saran wrap, a lil bit of cardboard, and I shut that one down... So yeah, buy this hose.. at the low cost, and Amazon's same day delivery, at least you won't have to wait long or pay too much if you too are as stubborn as I am and take forever getting to the point of buying this for your portable AC. The proof is in the lack of sweat puddles.. this works, and works WELL! ... show more
