  • SLEEP LIKE A PIRATE!
Fabric Type: Cotton Color: Tropical With Charcoal Frame
I have always wanted a hammock bed.. So I saw this one and went ahead and got it.. It is a very good design for indoor use at 9 feet long.. I'm using it as my bed and it works well.. It adjusts easily as it stretches out from use.. I'm 5'11'' and 230 lbs and it holds me just fine.. I will probably never sleep in a bed again after using this hammock.. With winter coming I plan to point a heater at the bottom of it and line the inside with a sleeping bag or nice blanket.. It is real nice in warm weather.. It is big enough to side sleep in and easy to get in and out of but it is different and may not be for everyone.. Just be careful not to stub your toe or trip on the stand as it sticks out a ways.. So far so good.. Bought mine from warehouse deals on Amazon and the frame had some paint missing from bad prepping.. It was listed as a return in new condition so no biggie.. I saved a few bucks by doing so and packaging had not been opened.. The hammock is easy to setup and break down but some of the threading on the screw in pipe connectors takes some effort to not cross thread.. But they did go together fine and if done properly there should be no wobble in the stand.. This hammock should not be used as a swing.. It is the 100% cotton hammock that you touch and feel and it is nice.. Saw reviews that said it smelled bad but mine had no odor and is very comfortable.. It is recommended by the manufacturer to hand wash it in Woolite or similar product.. For a cheapO hammock you can't beat this thing for the price.. All I need now is a parrot, ship & crew and I'm set Harrrr.. This product came as described on Amazon and was shipped quickly,, I would buy it again.. UPDATE 12/28/2013.. Still sleeping in it and my back loves it.. My family thinks I'm weird but so what I'm happy.. I found I can just wash it in the washing machine on gentle and it is fine.. Every thing is still holding up well.. You need to put pillows under your knees for sleeping on your back or at least I do.. A heater putting warm air under it keeps it nice and warm on cold nights.. I got the camping parachute material hammock that works on this frame from amazon and it is ok just watch out for the loops they connect to the hooks on it as it can slip and drop you.. Almost got me and only luck saved me from falling on the pipe frame.. I put padding over it now with that hammock just in case.. That said the cloth hammock that comes with this frame feels very secure and I just got the other nylon one while the cloth hammock dries after a wash.. Probably going to get another double cloth hammock and just use the camping nylon one for camping over very soft ground XD.. Enjoy.. ... show more

  • Outstanding Product - Best Deal!
Fabric Type: Cotton Color: Tropical With Charcoal Frame
I have owned hammocks my entire life, there is nothing that compares to laying in a hammock, and I can't imagine not owning one. I paid $60 USD. Boxed nicely. Frame has a very solid powder coat finish. Stand has been in the weather for 3 weeks, including multiple heavy rains and 100 degree sun, with no rust and no problems. Sturdy and easy to assemble. Easy enough to take apart and put back together that portability is a very practical option (Our 2 stands made a trip to the lake and have come inside for relaxing in front of the TV). As one would expect, the carry bag is not very heavy duty and probably will not last as long as the stand or the hammock, but come on...at this price point, the stand and hammock far exceed the expected quality, which is what matters. We already owned good quality hammocks, so the included hammock was just a bonus, but if you don't own a hammock, the included hammock is an excellent choice. The fabric is a heavy cotton canvas but it feels soft, not scratchy or stiff. Beautiful, bright colors and nice cordage finishing the ends. Package came with extra caps for the ends of the stand which could come off and get lost. I intend to add a little glue to mine. ... show more

  • 10 years later and still sleeping in it every night!
Fabric Type: Cotton Color: Tropical With Charcoal Frame
About a decade ago, I replaced my traditional mattress bed with a hammock and never looked back. This is the hammock stand I have been hanging my hammocks on and sleeping in every night for 10 years. The stand is sturdy, stable and easy to put together with no tools. It comes with a carrying bag that holds the whole setup and has the instructions sewn on the outside. It's not a small bag, nor is it light, but you could easily put it in a trunk or backseat. My only complaint is that depending on where your weight is in the hammock, the hammock ropes may rub against the wingnut and/or bolt that comes through the frame. I solved this by using some neoprene rubber from a mouse pad to fashion a washer that I put on the outside of the stand to take up some extra length on the hook bolt and screwed the wingnut down accordingly. I've noticed on newer models, the design had changed slightly and this is no longer an issue. I highly recommend this setup. I love that it can accommodate hammocks of different lengths and is so compact, sturdy and easy to assemble. The stand alone is worth the purchase price! Edit 10/22/15: I've had this product for 2 1/2 years now and wanted to report back on it. The stand is still in excellent condition despite the damp Northwest weather, and is still in daily use. In fact, at least three other people I know of have bought this combo to replace a mattress setup at home and are still, to my knowledge, using it happily. Since I bought this setup it's also been through many moves, been used as a guest bed, loved by cats, and survived some...dynamic forces for which it was probably not intended! It's been rock solid with over 400 lbs in it. I've used this stand with the hammock it came with, as well as nylon camping hammocks, and the range of adjustability has made it easy. I've retired the original hammock it came with, since it's pretty much blown out after a hard life, and am replacing it with a homemade tablecloth hammock. I've since learned more about hammocks and can add the caveat that no matter the length of the hammock you use in this stand, you will have a 9ft ridgeline and roughly a 4ft hang height, so the ability to fine tune your sag is a bit limited. That said, you can adjust the hammock length by adjusting where you hang it on the stand, so you have some wiggle room, and the hang angle that's built in is pretty close to 30 degrees to my eye. I see this stand continuing to serve me for a long time. It's a great portable hammock solution and the easiest way to have a hammock in an apartment or small space. The stand still comes apart and sets up easily, even if it's been left set up for a while. I do recommend using a tiny bit of grease on the threads of the bolt if you want to make sure they don't seize up. Update: 12/08/18 Yup, still using this hammock stand and still sleeping in it every night. I'm on my third hammock bed now and think this stand might last forever. Still no signs of rust, despite the North West damp and no signs of wear. I've moved houses several times. I've stored it in a storage unit that wasn't climate controlled for a couple weeks during winter and both the stand and bag show no signs of mildew. I've attached both steel and aluminum carabiners to the hooks with no problems. I thought by now that the rubber end caps, the curved washers, or the plastic hand bolts would have broken, but the hardware is still in great shape. I've also converted another person into a full-time hammock sleeper after they tried mine out and they're using this same stand happily and they weigh about 300 lbs. Just buy it. Update 11/28/21: What do you know? Still using this hammock stand every night and loving it! It's been about 10 years and all the hardware is in great shape and it's just as sturdy as ever. I've converted at least 4 other people to full time indoor hanging and to my knowledge, all are still happily using this stand with no issues. I've learned so much about hammocks now and can add that if you're over 6ft tall, depending on how you sleep, you may not get the flattest diagonal lay on this stand because the ridgeline is limited to 9ft. For that reason, at a certain point extra hammock width will not matter, so I wouldn't bother with a hammock bigger then a double as you'll just have extra fabric in your face. I've had pets, partners and friends hang with me, including tall folks and big folks. I've broken down and reassembled it countless times. I've moved it and stored it in damp places. I've subjected the stand to vigorous adult activities with no failures (of the stand, anyway!). I've used a wide variety of hammocks on it, and even added an underquilt to my current setup. I've built blanket forts over it because I'm an adult and I do what I want. I've never left it outdoors in the rain, so I can't speak to that, but I've used it in every other way imaginable. I even tried switching to some indoor-specific wall anchors for my full time hanging and came right back to this hammock stand. This stand is, without a doubt, the easiest way to hang a hammock indoors, whether full time or intermittently. If you have a 9ft by 4ft space, you can have blissful hammock hangs anytime you like, for years to come. Just buy the darn thing! ... show more
