It's a good bat, great grip and the weight. More than 11 grains on it, no watermarks, one knot on the backside of the bat. Wood is quite softer compared to my older bats, most part of the bat is white just 6 or 7% part of the bat is brown, which is good for KW! Played with both soft and hard old tennis balls. Already there were 2-3 scratches when I got on the bat but I wouldn't mind it. Eventually, there would be scratches and marks on the bat after a few matches on any bat. Hello, We all like baseball but cricket bats are a great fun way to enjoy the new T20 Cricket format in which the game only last about 3 hours. Who said cricket game lasts for ever........:0 not anymore folks. Cricket in USA is doing good at the international level with a new organization called USA CRICKET and our boys are doing very good. Gals have a team going as well. Try to support them. I ordered this bat on April 7th and it was shipped from India and I received it on April 10th via DHL express, way before the projected date. Not only it came fast, I was extremely happy to see that the bat was original (confirmed by various SS holographic logos on the packaging etc (NOTE: in the pictures I just took the gold holo logo from the packaging and applied it to the bat myself, it was not originally there. I also applied some regular tape at the bottom which is a normal practice to protect the bottom with players). There are a lot of fakes out there so be careful about which seller you buy from. I have attached various pictures below for your reference. Honestly, as we are just planning to have fun with this bat so go for the price that suits you or the stickers on it (lol) as looks do matter sometimes. In any-case with the quality of this bat you will be fine regardless. Pros for the Gladiator Model I bought: Unbleached willow. Light weight. Excellent handle grip. Great holographic stickers on all sides. New and modern curving at the back side of the bat. Protected strong fiber tape on the edges. Come with a protective case so no need to buy it separately. Shipped lightning fast Cons: No spare grip. No spare tape to apply to the bottom. BELOW IS MORE INFO ON CRICKETS BATS IN GENERAL. REVIEW IS OVER :) I am just attempting a crash course below on cricket bats for a quick reference if one needs to buy a bat for just casual play and fun. Keep in mind, cricket bats like any other sporting equipment can break with use, some break within a week and some last you years as no one can guarantee what is going on inside the log of wood from which they are made, specially around the handle area. So be prepared for that. I would not blame the seller for that for sure. I have had similar episodes where the bat lasted 10 days and then the handle went flying even with a tennis ball and then I have other bats which are still with me with years of playing with a proper cricket leather ball. I am not sure how to explain this. Firstly, you need to know what size you need for a cricket bat. If you are 5 feet 5 inches to 6 feet tall you will be fine with the standard adult size SH cricket bat. SH implies short handle which is the standard for adult size cricket bats. LH implies long handle and is for folks who are 6 feet and above in height. There are multiple charts for cricket bats relating to one's height which can be found easily on google. Just search " Cricket bat sizes". In general most women between 5 feet to 5 feet 5 inches should go for a size 6 bat or a size called "Harrow". Harrow is a special size in between sizes 6 and adult SH size. Coming back to cricket bat brands; SS, Kookaburra and SG are some famous ones and there are many more. I personally prefer the SS and Kookaburra branded bats as they have been around for decades. There is also a difference in the kind of willow that is used and they have many quality grades. Two most commonly used ones are English and Kashmir. (Leaving this topic for another time). Does not matter which one you get for starters, but I would recommend Kashmir willow. I bought this bat because I needed a heavy bat but when the bat arrived instead of weighing 1.64 KG it only weight 1.2 KG. I am really disappointed about the weight. Additionally, the bat has a knot which I am not happy about and the handle assembly could be a little better. Other that than defects mentioned the bat look good. This seller (Skyhi) has never disappointed me, this bat was my 3rd purchase from him and it was as good as the previous two bats. This bat is an Official SS Gladiator Kashmir Willow bat and it looks really wonderful. My bat was 1185 grams and it’s perfect for playing with heavy tennis.
