i'm a 62yr beginner, have a nice yamaha electronic set and would have never thought that drum sticks could make that much difference until the stix that came with the set split and i bought these. like night and day, the quality the weight and just the right feel in my hands. so if your a beginner give them a try ... show more

  • It's A Firth!
Style: 5A
My wife is a beginner drummer. I wanted to encourage her to play by providing a name brand stick as opposed to the generic one that came with the drum kit. The quality is as to be expected from an industry leader with years of service in producing a great product. Price and quality are very affordable, and the free shipping is always welcome. ... show more

  • Great beginner sticks!
Style: 5A
I just recently started learning to play the drums and have been trying out a bunch of different sticks to find just the right ones for me. I have smaller hands so I feel more comfortable with something lightweight. Thus far, these Vic Firth 5A sticks are the best I've come across. They are lightweight and easy to hold, and are reasonably durable (though any sticks will get eaten up over time by your hi hat). I haven't had any problems with grip or the sticks splitting either. I absolutely will buy these again! ... show more

  • Easy to use, comfortable!
Style: 5A
Bought my Vic Firth 5As back in August of 2022, and they've still held up well! Definitely recommend these drum sticks for beginners, as they are easy to use, and they fit comfortably in your hand even if you have small hands like me. Trying to hold the sticks in the correct grip? Put your thumb on the handy American flag and wrap the rest of your fingers around the stick. Easy to use, easy to manage, and as long as you don't beat your drum with it like a maniac, they will last a long time! If you do beat your drum with it... you might need more of them! ... show more

Love the sticks light good response off cymbals receiving them was difficult the original package arrived with no sticks had to call Amazon customer service and they corrected the issue. How does a person fill a package and not put the ordered item inside?

  • Good price, good sticks minus the tape
Style: 5A
I recently got into drums and needed some sticks that wouldn’t break the bank. These seemed perfect. I’ve never heard of the brand before but the reviews it had was enough to convince me to buy them. It usually goes for around $15 but I managed to get them while they were on sale for just $9.99. I’ve never used drumsticks before so I can’t compare these with others but I do like how they feel in my hand. They’re a good size and have a good weight to them. They seem well made as well, I don’t see them breaking anytime soon unless I throw it hard at a wall or something. I’ve been using them everyday for practice and they’re still in great condition. My wife isn’t too fond of all the noise that I make but we managed to compromise (I bought her a pair of noise reducing earplugs found here which seem to be doing the trick). Actually I eventually bought myself a pair as well..it helps me get into “the zone” so to speak. The only thing that I thought was weird is that it comes in a huge box! Like it’s not even the same size as the sticks. Who’s idea was it to do that?? Another downer that I want to mention is the tape. The drumsticks are held together by a strip out of the box but it’s SO hard to remove properly. You know how sometimes when you remove a sticker there’s that icky sticky residue leftover? That’s what you’ll get with these. It took me probably half an hour just to get it all off. It seems like I’m not the only person with the problem either as multiple people have mentioned the same thing on amazon. But I don’t regret buying them. They feel good in my hands and are a great weight. 9/10 would buy again :) ... show more
