  • great, unfinished
Color: Raw, Wood Tip Size: One Pair Style: Classic, Forward 5A
******UPDATE: - on my first order, this turned me into a fan of pro mark and thought they were the best thing - they may still be, i'm not sure, but on my second order the sticks look drastically different, the paint color is a darker green, the wood tip shape is different, the end of the barrel is shaped differently, the wood weight feels cheap/broken on the inside (not the quality you need for decent drumsticks) - photos are of the two separate orders side by side, notice how the shape varies - combined with the other comments experiencing the same 'FAKE' sticks i've got to say i do not trust amazon one bit at this point. they were sold directly from amazon, not a third party, and i've had a hunch on this with various items over the years (that amazon sells fake/lookalike goods) in even the most mundane categories. is it time to end my prime membership for good? jeez. --------------------------------------------- exactly what i was looking for - they are truly unfinished and have a nice grip to them and nice cymbal feel at all volumes. i've played with a lot of sticks and these are right up there ... show more

  • ******FAKE******????
Color: Lacquer, Nylon Tip Size: One Pair Style: Classic, Forward 5A
I have been playing with promark drumsticks for about 15yrs. I opened the box and noticed the sticks looked funny. When compared to my other promark sticks i noticed the taper was not even similar and the nylon tips were very different or elongated and slightly pointy. One time I attempted to pay drums with bargain sticks and this is what theses look like except for the promark packaging and logo's. I ordered four pairs of sticks and one stick is cracked half way through. In fifteen years of using promark sticks I have never seen a drumstick (New in the box) that was damaged. I don't believe these are true promark sticks but actually fakes. If they are not fake then I got four sets of 5A drumsticks that don't look anywhere close to the 5A sticks that I have been using for years. *Update* 10/11/2013 I contacted promark and informed them that I believed I received fake sticks. I never asked for replacements but they offered them and are sending me two more pairs than I purchased. I will be sending the junk sticks back to promark in anticipation of an explanation. Based on promark's customer service I won't be afraid to purchase their products in the future. ... show more

  • I may have found THE perfect stick!
Color: Lacquer, Wood Tip Size: One Pair Style: Classic, Forward 5A
I have bought only one pair of Promark sticks in the past ten years or so. I had been quite satisfied with Vater, Regal Tip and Vic Firth. But I decided to grab a pair of these 5A Promark sticks (oval wood tip) from Amazon, especially because they were at a special low price. They are everything I'd hoped they would be. They felt great in my hands and I loved the finish. The weight was perfect too. The sticks were also flawless; perfectly straight, and they were exact twins of each other. I'm a fan of the logo too. Though logos are unimportant, I tend to look at what the stick printing looks like and where it is on the stick, and Promark does it just right. I like a good clean sound on my cymbals, and these gave me that sound. Though it was subtle, I was comparing the sound with my other 5A sticks, and I liked the Promark better. I felt like I got a bit more articulation than my other 5A's. These are just fantastic all around sticks! I couldn't be happier. ... show more

  • Sticks and Stone May Break My Bones, But Drum Sticks Are For Playing!
Color: Lacquer, Nylon Tip Size: One Pair Style: Classic, Forward 5B
All drum sticks are NOT the same! For the last 10-15 years, I have been using multi-bagged, no name sticks. They are cheaper and last just as long or longer than name brands. I now use drummers gloves(again), and after asking a lady at church if she could sew some places up for me on my gloves; she gave me a $25 gift card for Amazon to buy another pair of gloves. I did and also bought this pair of sticks with leftover money. Good sticks, I have to say! I have played with nearly every name brand stick that has been available since the 70's, when sticks were CHEAP! But now it's generic baby! But these are good sticks. I prefer nylon tip over wood tip any day. They last longer and I prefer the crispier higher pitched sound from nylon tips over wood's more dull sound. Nylon tip is the way to go. plus I prefer a thick shaft all the way up to nearly the tip before they taper to a smaller diameter. These have a good thickness nearly to the tip as I prefer. I have used Quantum 3000's, and man those are like "tree-trunks" compared to these here. The older you get, the less intense you play I guess.LOL! Not me,though, I'm 53 yrs old and play drums in my church, and we are Apostolic/Pentecostal and if any of you know anything about Pentecostal churches; some songs, we throw down baby! None of this quiet and reserved playing like many denominational churches; and some even without drums! Imagine that! Praising the Lord without drums! Well anyway, these are good sticks. Would I ever buy anymore? Yes, if I was given another gift card, or if someone bought them for me. I will never pay this kind of price out of my own pocket. Remember I said, generic sticks baby! Play for Jesus! ... show more
