  • Okay, this is great.
Size: 10x12 Portable
What the hoo-ha with the bad reviews? This little machine works great, heats up fast, and works so much better than my iron. It’ definitely a step up. I love that the heating plate is slightly concave (?). It makes pressing an easy task. I used parchment paper to cover the iron-on (both vinyl and iron-on transfer paper) and was able to move and press, move and press all around and around to fuse the iron on to material. Directions were a little scarce, but I figured it out after a couple of shirts. Bonus: I purchased mine used and discounted, so it worked in my benefit that someone didn’t know how to use it, thought it didn’t work, and returned it. It works. It’s not going back. ... show more

  • Overall Great little press
Purchased in 2019... Has been a GREAT heat press... I do recommend bolting it down to your surface as sometimes the swing away action will cause it to try and topple.... Have used this machine SOOOO much and loved it... until recently... not sure what happened to it, it will not stay on, the safety breaker trips every time I turn it on. I have reached out to the company for resolution, hopefully this will resolved soon. I have used the cup/mug attachment often.. I have never used the plate press or the hat press because I have not felt like taking it apart to install the other components but the mug press option is a simple cord swap vs taking off the whole top section. I think I will be purchasing a hat press specifically for hats rather than using this feature on this press but once this press is fixed, I will continue using the attachment for mugs! In hindsight, I do wish I had purchased a larger 15x15 plate, perhaps even a slide out so if your just now shopping you might want to consider those options but honestly. Not disappointed with this press at all for all it does. ... show more

  • Very disappointed!
Size: 9x9
I don’t typically write reviews, but I don’t want anyone to go through the same experience. I knew I was taking a chance when I bought a heat press at this price point, but I work for a school and I didn’t have much to spend. I used this heat press for a project with my students. I purchased this is January. In February, we used it to create 25 t-shirts, and it worked perfectly without issue. We received another order for t-shirts and we began making them. About 7 shirts in, the heat press would not longer heat up. It just stopped worked halfway through one of our shirts. We tried all trouble shooting options in the manual and online- let it cool, unplugged it, turned it on and off, cleaned the plate, but nothing worked. I am very disappointed that I only got to use this a few times before it completely gave out. Unfortunately it is past my return date which was the end of February, so now I am stuck with a heat press that doesn’t work. My students were so excited to start this little small business, and now we have to stop. Next time I will purchase a better item. ... show more

I bought this to press vinyl onto shirts. It works well but I have trouble remembering how to see the time and temp. Could just be me but I wish it were more start up friendly

  • Solidly built, but temperature control is really wonky
Size: 2in1
The price (purchased when it was $85) and physical build quality are positive characteristics. The problem arises with the temperature control. The temperature can rise 15-20 degrees above the set point before coasting back down. As an engineer, I recognize the cause of this problem. The problem is that the controller is a bang-bang (on and off) controller. I plugged the unit into a watt-meter, so I can confirm that either the device is drawing 800 watts (full power), or 0 watts (no power). The turn-on temperature is 3 degrees below the set temp and the turn-off temp is the set-temperature. So it is pulling 800 watts up to the point where it stops drawing power. I measured the time between turn-on and turn-off to be approx 30 seconds. After the turn-off, the temperature continues to coast upwards even though it is drawing no power. There are several remedies to this problem. First, use proportional control (the power draw is proportional to how far away you are from the set point--don't put the pedal to the metal (800 watts) when you are close to the set point). Maybe proportional control is unrealistic for such an inexpensive device? Alternative fix: don't make the turn-on point 3 degrees below the set point. This would decrease the on-time cycle to something less than the observed 30 seconds. A shorter on-time means less coasting above the set-point. Were the engineers afraid of limit-cycling? That isn't the issue--it takes minutes for it to go from turning on the heating element to the next time it turns on. Can anyone tell me how to change to turn-on set point? I would gladly change it myself if I knew how, Anyway, I ended up keeping it because I could predict this wonky behavior. I just wait for a period after the temperature starts falling from the peak before actually pressing. I noticed that my unit didn't have the snap switch that has baffled many because of lack of instructions. My unit automatically detects the external device (in this case, the cap press) and routes power to it. Somewhere, someone did a hardware update. They probably didn't retest the system after the update, or they should have detected the temperature control problem. Your humble beta-tester. ... show more
