There are some fancy blowers out there that supposedly are worth the money, but after seeing reviews that they burn out quickly, we decided to instead try this obscure brand. We based our decision on good reviews and the accessories provided. And, a year later, we are glad to have taken the chance. The variety of heat settings is good, and each selection is substantially different from one another. Same for fan speed, where the range of choices makes a practical difference matching what's needed. Cord length and weight are fine, and the accessory attachments can be put on and taken off without a lot of trouble. Happy to report there has been NO "burning" smell as reported with rival brands, and the heating element has held up now for a year with no problems. I'm a dude and recently let my hair grow out and haven't used hairdryers for decades. I tired using hairdryers I found around the house left by kids and exes. (a pathetic Brookstone travel, Clarion 1200 Air Express and a large Conair that made grinding noises and was possibly a fire hazard) None worked as well as I wanted. I bought this because it wasn't pink and girly, had good reviews, and because it was 2200 watt. Even though its a brand I never heard of, and cost double that of one you'd find at a pharmacy or Walmart, it looked quality so I thought I'd check it out. The thing is built like a tank! The switches and heavy duty cord are especially impressive. The cord is long but heavy and doesn't feel like it would tangle easily. The thing has more airflow than my Dyson vacuum! It puts out impressive heat too. I use full fan and full heat all the time. The housing doesn't get too hot. It dries hair quickly on the setting I use. Don't get hung up on brand.
