Came across this one, got here the next day, and within minutes this thing popped my lower rearward control arm out. No bending of the fork part, and it worked equally as well for the other side. The ball joint coupling to remove the ball joint ovaled out after one use and would noy sit flush around the balljoint. Done on a Mercedes cost me more money to get the job done.

Very sturdy, I would rate it higher if it had an inset for the adjuster bar. Perfect for seperating the joints on the aluminum rear hub on a Rx-8. I needed it right away and it showed up quick, but if you can wait perhaps you can get it cheaper.

    • Fits an Audi S5, but doesn't seem hold up for long. Maybe one job use?
Size: 32mm ball joint tool
First of all, it was very hard to find a ball joint separator that fits an Audi - particularly my 2010 S5. So, I was excited that with some trial and error in adjusting the center adjuster, this one fit pretty nicely. Upon use, I really had to apply torque and after the first use, I noticed metal shavings on the threads as they were under significant pressure. After the second joint, the beefy looking side opposite the U had begun to bend around the mid point a bit. I expect that within one or two more uses, the metal may facture or become useless by bending to the point where you can't tighten it enough. A ball joint remover shouldn't need heat or hammering to separate joints like some people have suggested, however, had I used heat (and risked damaging the ball joint sleeve I intended to reuse), perhaps it would have come apart before the metal bent and the threads had shavings. Had it not begun to fail, I would have given five stars for sure. ... show more

This tool worked very well. I saw other's had issues, and so did I, but the issue was not with the tool, it was the configuration of the Ball Joint and Lower Control Arm in relation to the wheel knuckle. the inside gap was too small to get the right tongue of the tool around the joint. Once i got the jack and lifted the wheel knuckle up to change the geometry of the gap, I got the tool correctly on and this tool popped the Ball Joint out in about 2 minutes. ... show more
