Description

The heavy duty BSK2000 from US Stove Company is an all-inclusive kit containing everything needed to convert a 36- or 55-gallon steel drum into a portable camp stove. Kit contains legs, door, flue collar with damper and all mounting hardware. The steel drum barrel is not included. The BSK2000 is perfect for camp sites along with hunting and fishing situations. This kit is not EPA certified and is not designed for residential use.

Easy to install. All you need is a barrel, a drill and an angle grinder. I ended up just using mine outside so it rusted up pretty badly. The damper won't stay open on its own anymore but I always run it wide open anyway. This kit works to turn a barrel into a woodstove. Leaks everywhere so I probably wouldn't use it inside, maybe in a cabin. ... show more

I like the door, had to customize it just a little bit. The stove pipe flue will not fit the 30 gal barrel. So I’m using the old one. Other then that, the door is 1”bigger then what I wanted. Oh well it will work.

This was fairly straight forward to assemble. Biggest issues were cutting the circle for the stove pipe collar (I have a lack of good tools) and getting the stove pipe to fit. The collar/damper isn't nearly deep enough to accommodate The stove pipe. It barely grabs in and the damper can't move once the stove pipe is pushed into the hole. Definitely a horrible design error. If I had known this was the case, I would have looked for a different product as this will not work for my intended purpose. Now I have to find a collar/damper that will work with the holes I already have. IF you don't mind a sloppy seal and smoke leaking like a sieve, then this will work great for you. I even spent the extra $$ to buy the rope gaskets to seal it all up nice, just to be let down when I noticed the shoddy collar/damper setup. ... show more

As described and good quality. I've built a number of barrel stoves over the years, and these are fine. Figured I'd better get an extra kit before someone succeeds in outlawing them completely. I recommend you use the 'open head' drum type, configuring the open end at the back of the stove and cutting through the bottom of the drum for the door. Using this design allows for much easier installation of stove brick or pouring in a furnace cement mixture. Use a good quality stove cement to seal the back end and qood quality rings, or sheet metal screws to affix the lid. ... show more
