  • This is a necessity!
Color: Clear
I'm very impressed by this keyboard cover! I've gone years without using one but, after having multiple Macbook Airs suffer keyboard failures (even on models that allegedly don't have the problematic butterfly keys), I decided that I needed to try a preventative measure. My expectations weren't that high, but the Ghost Cover immediately amazed me! Installation was almost too easy! I laid it on my M3 Macbook Air keyboard and it immediately fell into place almost as if there magnetism. I didn't use the stickers or any kind of adhesive and don't feel like it's necessary. The cover fits like a glove and is barely visible. The only visual difference is that the keys look more gray than before, but anyone not familiar with Macbooks would never know there's a cover without looking closely. Yes, the feel of typing is affected by the cover. No keyboard cover is going to have the same feel as if there's no cover at all. That said, this cover really doesn't get in the way of typing. If I really needed to whip out an essay ASAP, I *might* remove the cover, but for day to day purposes the typing is totally comfortable. It just takes a bit getting used to because the cover makes the keys feel a little more stiff. I'm able to type at 95 WPM without having to struggle or be conscious of the cover. As mentioned in the title, I'm now convinced that a keyboard cover is a necessity. Since it doesn't allow random dirt and dust to fall into the keyboard, it's very obvious how much dirt can get in there and potentially mess things up. Honestly, I don't understand what the naysayers are talking about. This seems about as good as it gets in terms of protecting your Macbook keyboard. ... show more

  • Works and fits just fine on a 15-inch MacBook Air M3
Color: Translucent Tinted
If you work or use your laptop in a dusty environment, and if you're very particular about keeping as much of that as you can out of the keys, then this is probably what you want. Some caveats and things to know up front (speaking only to how it fits on a 15-inch MacBook Air M3): - Yes, it changes how it feels to type on the keys... because it's a cover that goes over the keys. After a month, I've gotten used to it, but you need to weigh your tolerance/adaptability for this versus how badly you want to keep out dust. - There's no "break-in" period where the thing gets softer or more pliable because that doesn't make sense -- the TPU (i.e., material its made of) isn't going to change properties on its own. - If you value the original feel of how it is to type on a MacBook keyboard more than anything, then this isn't for you. I didn't bother using the adhesive stickers that came with it; the cover stays pretty well on its own and I'm not sure what other people are doing where they're having it slide off in the middle of typing (e.g., rolling your fingers when hitting the keys? What?) There's no trick to installation; you simply lay it on the keys and it stays in place. Also remember this: Apple says "remove [any sort of keyboard cover] before closing your display to prevent damage to your display". That said, I've closed the lid with it on plenty of times -- it closes just fine -- and I haven't seen any marks on the screen. I also wipe off the cover with a slightly damp cloth to get rid of any surface oil or dust, and I don't bash the laptop about, or press on the lid, or pretty much do anything that would mash the glass against the keys in the first place. Washing it is easy. Just gently press your finger on one of the corners, like the 'esc' key', drag the finger a bit, and the cover lifts up easily. Rinse it, let it dry, and you're done. Overall, I give it five stars: it does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it's sturdy enough that it doesn't flop about. It absolutely does change how it feels to type, and that's a tradeoff you need to decide is worth or not. ... show more

  • Excellent Protector
Color: Clear
In terms of looks, this is the best looking keyboard cover I've seen so far. It basically looks like there's nothing there once it's on, aside from the cutout for the touch id sensor. The texturing on the keys isn't sticky either so it feels nice to the touch, similar to the original keys. In terms of fitment, mine had slight misalignment of the touch id cutout in the beginning, but after typing and breaking in the top row of the cover a bit it seems to have fixed itself. Other than that fitment has been great, it's actually a bit difficult to remove the cover once you have it on since it's so precisely fitted, so make sure your keyboard is clean before you put this thing on. In terms of typing: other reviews have mentioned that this cover makes typing a bit more difficult. While that's true when you first get the protector, just give it a couple of days to break in and typing will be just fine. I sped up the process by trying to press a bunch of times "in between" adjacent keys. After break in, I can already type above 100 wpm even with this cover on. I'm still a bit slower than without it, but it's more than fine for its purpose. The typing feel definitely isn't as good as without the cover on at all, but that's the sacrifice you make to protect your keyboard from crumbs and dust. I can definitely tell a bit of a difference in stiffness between my well broken in keys and say the function keys on the top row that aren't used as much. Overall probably the best keyboard protector that I've seen. After a couple days break in it's pretty good to type on. It's definitely a bit pricier than other keyboard covers, but in this case you get what you pay for in terms of quality, looks, and fitment. ... show more
