Edit: I raised my review from 4 to 5 stars. I've over time decided just to leave it on all the time because I got used to it. I just dumped an entire glass of water directly on my keyboard for the first time in my life, and the keyboard came out bone dry except a couple drops on the back plastic side that I was able to just wipe off with a towel. The Protector did its job well. I bought this cover because I can't replace the now-shredded cover that came with my keyboard since the keyboard doesn't appear to be sold anymore. I was unable to find one with fitted keys that worked with this keyboard, which still works perfectly well, so I needed something that would still work with it. I work from home and eat lunch at my desk often, so I keep it mostly covered when typing to prevent snack crumbs or spilled drinks from damaging my keyboard. This cover still allows me to type fine while it's on, but if I'm not eating/drinking, and I'm typing quite a lot, I'll be removing it, unlike my previous cover, because it's a little thicker, and my fingers fatigue faster with it on. I can still see the keys decently well through it when it's on, although it's definitely not clear, and better when I turn on the backlit keys. It's a good size and seems sturdy. It's a decent replacement that will keep the dust off when the keyboard is not in use and will give a good amount of protection if I'm working through lunches. ... show more

    • Better than expected!
I killed 3 keyboards from small amts of water spilling into the keys. I first tried the keyboard cover (yes, the thing like a saranwrap with elastic that goes over the keyboard). If you pull it "taut", the covers work well. However, my short nails kept tearing a hole near the "s" key, allowing moisture to get in again. So I then tried to use thick saran wrap. Same issue...the tears occurred near the "s". Ok....so I then tried to protect the purchased plastic "bonnet" with saran wrap and the saran wrap tore in 2 days. The issue and reason that I reduced this to 4 stars is because this silicone layer doesn't protect adequately against water! But it does protect against damage to the plastic bonnet. So I am using the plastic protector under the silicone cover and the silicone protects against damage to the plastic. I probably could do the same with saran wrap. This silicone protector is starting to stretch on the left hand side, but not so much that it's causing issues. In retrospect, now that I see how this silicone cover works, I might have been able to take a 4mil plastic bag and tape it around the keyboard and it wouldn't have torn. However, I must say that I like the feel of this silicone layer. No regrets - I was aware of the fact that this product doesn't address the water issue. But if the manufacturer wanted to make a better product, they might have a way to be longer or more "envelope like" so that it could seal the keyboard from water. ... show more

It may not be the prettiest thing but it works like a charm. I got this to make it quieter when I type as I tend to type with my nails and it makes it so I do not slip off the keys and hit other keys. I highly recommend this for people with long nails that type.

    • Cheap but effective.
This wrap needs to be secured with tape to the back of the keyboard. It DOES NOT self-adhere. It feels sticky to my fingers when typing and I've had more typing errors since I've begun using it. Just wish my cheap HP keyboard had a form-fitting skin. However, this item does work as advertised in keeping the keyboard clean just be aware it's not gonna form fit to your keyboard. ... show more

I’m very disappointed in this product, because after been using it for 3 months it became white, I can’t see any key only if I turn on the lights of the keyboard

    • See, I thought I'd hate this...but I LOVE IT.
Ok, it's just a sheet of sexy feeling see through floppy stuff (although I touch type, so transparency wasn't a "thing") and it stay's put. I use cheap horrible key boards because keyboard have a high mortality rate under my care. (or lack there of). This sheeting came just in time for yet another new, cheap keyboard...and it still looks like brand new...no wearing off of print on select keys, no sticky keys from hot chocolate late at night. And get this...you can easily wash it and dry it and it still feels like new. I highly recommend. ... show more

    • It's perfect!
There is a fold where the cover was made to fit the packaging. But I have a full-size keyboard, with a Navigation and Arrow Keys section. The fold is from top to bottom, to the left of the Pause and right arrow keys. It never moves as I type and is easy to clean.
