I use Continental 5/8 rubber hoses and they have been amazingly durable and resilient over many, many years. I don't store them properly, and they are typically frozen solid in the winter time, and yet they have never let me down. I wanted to test out this hybrid hose, albeit, the 10-foot length doesn't give me the ability to fully assess its full range of performance. I did want a short length like this however, just for quickly connecting to my water spigot for simple jobs that don't require a longer hose during the winter months. My first impression is that the hybrid hose material is supple, and lightweight. It strikes something of a balance between heavier and supremely durable rubber hoses, and those cheap, almost disposable, bargain priced “plasticky” hoses that I avoid at all costs. The hybrid material feels like it is a good quality – similar in many ways to hybrid air hoses I have. As for kinking, well, every hose I have ever used I have had to wrangle with to avoid kinking to one degree or another, including my premium rubber hoses. Being only 10-feet long, well, kinking isn’t really a problem, but that short length makes it difficult to gauge how a longer version of this hose would handle my typical dragging across the driveway to wash cars. While pressurized, it seems to resist kinking similarly to a rubber hose. Without pressure, just free-flowing water through the hose, it seems a little more prone to kink, again, fairly similar to a rubber hose. Unfortunately, I can’t really properly test the hose in the manner I use my rubber hoses in terms of being dragged around the yard, and particularly, across asphalt on a regular basis, as this thing is only 10-feet long. It is less rugged than my Continental rubber hoses, but, it doesn’t seem too far behind in this regard. I’m very tough on hoses and I think it’s probably impossible to match a quality rubber hose when it comes to pure durability. However, dragging around 100-plus feet of rubber hose often makes you realize that the durability comes at the price of being heavier than pretty much any other type of garden hose. Dragging it out and putting it away can be a real chore. And that’s where I see a hybrid hose like this one having a place – reasonably resilient, lighter than rubber, flexibility like rubber, decent kink resistance, and leaps and bounds better than garbage plasticky hoses. I think folks looking for a good hose that isn’t a bear to drag around will appreciate these hybrid models. As to this 10-footer, I think it’s great for quick work where you don’t need range, and it’s a breeze to curl up and put away. The bend restrictors work, but they are far from being robust. On a short length hose like this, I could do just fine without them however. The fittings appear to be solid brass, and good quality. The included washers seem a bit on the firm side which requires a little extra tightening for a leak-free seal. Bottom line - I would like to test out a longer version of a hybrid garden hose to get the best all around impression and understanding as to performance, but as to this one, I think it is a pretty good hose. The price, well, I don’t like it, coming in at $18, is too high. The longer versions come in at a way better price point and value. Four stars on this one. ... show more

This is a good, quality product. Lite-weight and easy to maneuver around. This kink resistant hose comes with a couple of extra rubber gaskets and seems to be very durable. I have it connected to another hose for extra length and there's no leakage around the connectors. We're just coming out of winter so I haven't used it extensively as yet but I don't expect any issues. It's being used for general lawn and gardening purposes. It gets dragged all around the yard. I have a tween nephew who tends to pull and yank the hoses around when he's helping with the watering, it can ruin a hose if you're not careful, but this one seems to be holding up to his man-handling very well. BOTTOM LINE: Good quality product. No complaints. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The DAYISTOOLS Hybrid Garden Hose is a top quality product that appears capable of providing years of trouble-free service. Every aspect of the listing description is accurate, including being lightweight (1 lb 6.9 oz for 10 ft length) and flexible. I haven’t owned it long enough to comment on the durability over time, but I can say that the hose has a rugged feel and appearance, and should be more than capability of handling harsh conditions. Make no mistake, this is one tough yet flexible hose. That’s what I like most. Some hybrid hoses that I’ve owed, even the most popular top of the line picks, are overly stiff and heavy. Not this hose. Of course, it probably has a thinner wall, but that’s OK with me as long as it doesn’t kink. With the water pressure ON, I was UNABLE to kink the hose. Even when I forcibly bent the hose into a teardrop shape while squeezing the two sides. It would not collapse at the bend! I’m sure if I tried hard enough I could get it to kink. But under normal use conditions, I feel confident in say that the hose is kink-free. I only needed a 10 ft length to cover the distance between the faucet and the hose reel, but if I ever need a longer hose I would definitely check out this line. At the time of this review the price was much lower than premium brands of the same length. So for me this option is a VALUE. This is a nice water hose. I just used it to clean my the windows outside. It attached easily to my faucet. It isn’t firm. The hose can almost be flat. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not. It functioned like I expected. I wished that it would have been a little longer, but it will work nicely where I have it. I’d order again if I needed one.
