The media could not be loaded. Been using this fancy litter box for a month now and I gotta say, it's made life with my three kitties a whole lot easier! The self-cleaning feature is clutch - no more daily scooping duty for this cat dad. Just let the box do its thing after each feline bathroom break. Safety seems to be the name of the game with this design. The cleaning cycle only kicks off once the door is securely shut and it won't budge if it senses a curious cat still inside. Even if one of my mischievous fur babies tries to sneak back in mid-clean, the radar and infrared sensors make sure the door pops right back open. It's like having a built-in kitty bouncer! The odor control is no joke either. Between the negative ion tech, ventilation system, and spots for deodorizers, any unpleasant smells are kept in check. My nose (and my guests) thank you, litter box gods! Just a heads up, the ventilation pipe is removable so you've got options for setup. Now, the camera feature took me by surprise. It lets me spy on my cats' potty habits from my phone, which is handy for keeping tabs on their health and regularity. Feels a bit invasive, but hey, anything for my fur children's wellbeing! The app has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty darn convenient. I can start a cleaning cycle, adjust litter levels, and get fresh air circulating all with a few taps. The 5G support is cool, but the box recommends sticking with 2.4GHz WiFi for the best connection. I was skeptical about the multi-cat recognition, but color me impressed - it actually works! The box keeps track of each kitty's visits and stats like a feline bathroom monitor. Seeing their "poop profiles" on the app is equal parts fascinating and TMI. Putting this thing together was a bit of a puzzle - lots of parts and the instructions could use some work. But customer service was on point with answering my questions (even the silly ones). One thing to note - when you first fire up the box or update the app, it does a self-test with the door wide open. It's so you can check that everything's in working order before your cats hop in. Startling, but smart for safety. All in all, this space-age litter box has been a game-changer for this multi-cat household. It keeps things tidy, stink-free, and most importantly, safe for my furry rugrats. The media could not be loaded. I really wanted to love this automatic litter box, but sadly I am extremely disappointed and frustrated to say that at first this litter box worked great! But I have only had this litter box less than 24 hours and the self closing doors will not shut to complete a clean cycle! I’ve tried unplugging, and plugging back in, deleting app and reinstalling it, reconnecting to network over-and-over, the litter box won’t even connect to network now even though the light is flashing to indicate pairing mode is on. I’ve tried taking the unit apart to see if anything was trapped near the doors that would prevent the doors from closing, and nothing has worked! I am very unhappy with this purchase! And now in order to return it I’m going to have to buy a box at UPS which probably won’t be cheap since it’s going to have to be a big box. I should’ve listened when I was reading the reviews but I wanted to give this litter box a chance. What a major disappointment and headache this has been! UPDATE: I decided to give this litter box another try because I loved it so much! I ordered a second one on April 30, 2024 and it was working great until today at 9am May 5, 2024 this new box didn’t even last a week before breaking again with the same issue in my previous review. The doors stop working so I give up I’m not going to be ordering a third one. It’s like the motor is cheap because everyone it would do a clean cycle it sounded like the machine was struggling! Long review, but I wanted to be thorough since I had such a hard time & anxiety deciding which one to buy myself. hopefully, it will help others. Charmkit self-cleaning cat litter box. I've owned & used this for a month now. This is my first purchase of a self-cleaning litterbox. I have 2 full-grown cats around 9-10 lbs. and having back issues, it was getting difficult to keep cleaning out the standard litterbox 3 times a day. I couldn't bring myself to buy one of the larger self-cleaning boxes for various reasons. 1. The cost of them 2. I don't really have room for those big eggs 3. I have 1 cat that is bound & determined to "live" up to the old saying of what curiousity did.. so I was very worried about safety. So I found the Charmkit on Amazon..THIS ONE FIT ALL MY NEEDS! I can't review their customer service because I haven't had a reason to contact them. PROS: 1. COST- Price is half the cost of the "litter eggs" 2. SIZE- Perfect size & much easier to place in smaller areas. 3. SAFETY- The doors close when the cleaning or leveling cycle is going ensuring I'm not tumbling my cat or never having the box self clean due to them wanting to see what that noise is and making the sensors stop the cycle like happens with other self-cleaners. 4. SAFETY- If the DOOR SENSORS pick up an object in range of them, they will either NOT CLOSE or open back up, delaying any cycles until everything is clear & they can close safely. 5. LOCKED Manual BUTTONS on the outside of the unit (SAFETY Feature so kitties or small children don't play with them) in case the internet isn't working or I don't want to hook it up via an app. ***Some have written that their MANUAL buttons on the unit don't work and I wonder if they don't realize you need to press the "Auto" button twice (not hold, but press) and the red light above the button will go off and allow you to use the other manual buttons. 6. An inside CAMERA, so I don't have to stick my face in there to see if I need to add litter! I just look on the app. 7. SUPER EASY for thorough CLEANING with the ability to remove the inner chamber. 8.. NO ODOR problems anymore. I'm super smell sensitive, and I can't smell any nasty fecal or urine from it in an open concept tiny apartment that is comprised of less than 450 sq ft. 9. EASIST LITTER REFILL- There's a slot on top that rotates to the bottom of unit during the clean & empty cycle. It works as an easy fill slot when in its stationary top position. 10. Can set up clean and freshing schedules and duration of time to auto clean after cat exits chamber. Also has a sleep schedule if needed. CONS: 1. Unit material for the cover over the chamber is not very sturdy and seems like it probably will crack at some point within the next 2 years due to cheap plastic. Rest of the unit material (except waste pan) seems adequate. 2. Fitting the chamber back on the wheel gears can be hit or miss, and if you don't set it properly, you can break the locking arm while snapping it in place and also it won't run the cycles if not on properly so you have to take it back off & set it properly. 3. FAIL on the WEIGHT & USAGE statistics. Scales & recognition are off. It reads only half the time, or it'll put info in that 1 cat used the box, and I just saw that it was my other cat instead. I believe, though, it's more of an app issue than a unit issue. (I was careful to not slide or drag unit during placement or during cleaning so the foot sensors don't get messed up) When you add your pets in pet info on the app, You can't put a picture of your actual cat in the profile, only get to pick from their 5 avatar pics and I'm not sure if that is how the app distinguishes between which pet is using the box (since it has the camera in there) or what because I would think entity recognition would be the only way that could work for multiple cats since there isn't a RFID or chip collar. If it's by weight only, then the problem could be both my cats weigh around the same, BUT it definitely doesn't work. I'll add stat pics to review. 4. The sliding doors get dirty and are difficult to clean since they slide back into their housing. I guess I could try to unplug the unit after it's done with the empty cycle prior to them opening when I clean the whole unit again. 5. They really could've done a better job on the app features and interface. 6. Waste removal drawer plastic is awful. I had to add cardboard under the waste bag as a noise damper. It was very loud during the cleaning cycle when it dumped. No one wants to hear that loud thunk... All in all, as long as it keeps working, I'm very happy with this purchase and I'd highly recommend it. ... show more
