Top Amazon Reviews

  • Good Looking Highly Functional Storage Case.....But.....
OK! Let's get right to the knitty-gritty of this knife storage case. Will it reasonably hold 40 "REAL" knives? Not on your life! However, it performs very well holding selective knives of various sizes, both folding and fixed blade, if placed in the proper organization to be able to comfortably close the case and zip it up without the knives hitting or rubbing against each other. How do I know this? I'm so glad you asked, because that was my original intent from reading some of the reviews and after receiving the case. I received it within 48 hours of order, well packaged, with the good looking appearance as presented accurately on Amazon.com. Based on reading the reviews, the first order of business was to tighten the couple of screws insuring a secure handle. Allow me to point out two unexpected, 'slightly' disappointing aspects to this storage case. The first being the inside covers are basically red heavy-duty type yet cheap velvet cloth. There is one on the left and one on the right of the case to keep the knives on each side from coming into direct contact. Really, a very minor point in light of the big picture. The second is the design and construction of the elastic slips to place the knives securely. These elastic security slips are NOT individual, but rather one long strip of black elastic woven in and out across each left and right side of the case. The total count of these black elastic security slips is 42, BUT, only utilizing six (6) strips of elastic on each side. The bottom line reason why this is not the most effective design, should you have three knives secured horizontally across one line, you have now used up all possible slack with none left to be able to insert any additional knives. It's simply way too tight. Now, don't freak, because the very simple work around for this is to strategically stagger the knives taking all of the above into consideration and it all works out very well. I knew I needed the larger case, knew what to expect from many of the reviews and was prepared. I have organized my case to contain the following: Left side contains 3 - 8" folding knives, one Gerber 7 3/4" fixed blade knife with solid sheath, a Smith & Wesson sharpener and two heavy-duty 2 1/2" X 5 1/4" nylon folding knife belt cases. The right side contains 1 - 3 ft. piece of para-cord, 1 - 8 1/2" folding knife, 1 - 5 1/2" folding mini-knife, Gerber fixed blade belt clip, 1 - 10" fixed blade knife with sheath, which will also hold the matching folding knife and 1 - 7 1/2" fixed blade boot knife with solid sheath. All of this strategically placed allowing easy opening and closing of the fully zippered case. Completely zipped closed the case is not stretched and a comfortable 1 1/4" think all the way around. Now c'mon, that ain't bad still having some room to spare for about 3 more folding knives. As a result of pre-emptive knowledge from the reviews and description of the product, this Knife Storage Case by United has worked out very well for my circumstances, thus I give it 5 solid Stars. Those reviews are there for a reason and with Amazon.com have been worth their weight in gold, saving me time, surprises and major aggravation. Having shared the above, I highly recommend this product for use as a knife case. Should you have a larger collection, look into a couple of these cases or some larger alternative. This particular product has worked very well for me and I hope this review has give you some good insight, value and benefit. ... show more

  • Excellent Affordable Storage Solution
I've been looking for a means to store my growing collection a knives, and this product attracted my attention based on the brand, the description, the customer reviews and the price. I've been able to store twenty one (21) 3.5" to 4" inch, and 14 4.5" to 5.%" folding knives in this case. I would have had no problem holding 42 of the smaller knives, so as far as capacity goes, it certainly does the trick. Only just started using it so I can't comment on how sturdy it is but while I wouldn't want to walk for miles or hours carrying it by the handle, it seems pretty sturdy and not a all flimsy. The felt liner is a nice feature as it should prevent scratching from the knives coming together. The only drawback for me is that the elastic loop feature is a little tough to deal with. Not really a problem in getting the knives in place, but taking them out and in is bit of a bother. Pockets would have been preferable, but unless they had some sort of closure I'm sure I would have run into a problem with them falling out. Time will tell how sturdy the elastic loops are, as I didn't buy these knives to leave in a case and I'll be taking them out and in with frequency. Overall, I'm very pleased with this storage solution; so much so that I purchased a second set at this size and one of the smaller ones. I'm using the second case of these dimensions to store most of my larger knives: Between 5.5" and 10". The smaller one I intend to use for my favorite smaller knives that will be getting the most use. ... show more

  • Knife Collection Organizer
Currently, my collection of folding knives is around 70 at last count. I've been storing my knives in an amazon cardboard box which i began to realize was not the best method of 'keeping" my folding blades. So instead of buying another knife, it was time to put out and spend some money to help me organize my collection. I found these cases (purchased two cases) on Amazon and when i saw that each case could hold 40 blades, in my twisted way of thinking, that meant i could buy ten new folders to fill-up both cases. I was jazzed! But as many of us are aware, whats on paper doesnt always convert to reality. Such is the case with this case! As you may be aware, I do especially like the longer defensive/tactical blades. As i found out, this case can handle (40) SMALL knives. Ok, so with a little analysis, i was able to get 15 knives into each side for a total of 30 blades per binder. And to be honest. The binder is well-put together and holds the blades in place and the binder handle is sturdy and now allows me to cart around the collection in a very efficient manner. Also, no dings, dents or scratches from no longer having to put my knives on top of each other in an amazon shipping box! Only time will tell about the products true durability but it stores the knives securely. The cloth background protects the exterior of the knives and the binder style with handle allows excellent transportation. At this price I will be buying perhaps a couple more which once again in my twisted mind will allow for some new knife purchases down the line.... when it comes to decent folding knives...i am a very sick person...lol If your a collector without a big budget and you want to organize your current collection, you may not get 40 knives in this binder but 30 well-secured knives aint bad either! Very decent product for the money. After a little wear and tear, i'll do an update. By the way, I was able to fit my Cold Steel Voyager XL into the binder. It takes a few spaces but it was stored securely. i'm gonna purchase one or two more of these knife binders! ... show more
