  • Versatile, sturdy, well-designed storage system
I ordered this storage system because it was listed as a bicycle rack, and my growing stable of bikes was taking up too much floor space, mostly leaning against various walls. As it turns out, optional hooks (not shipped with the unit) can be snapped into place to hold skis or other other odds and ends, like ski poles, hoses, shovels, brooms, etc. This system, as shipped, is designed to hold up to 4 bikes on hooks that swivel so that the bikes can be turned to hang closer to the wall instead of sticking straight out into the room. In the picture, above, I only have one bike hanging to show the concept. The unit ships with four 16" sections, totalling 64" in length, which happens to fit the dimensions of this small nook in my basement exercise and bicycle maintenance room, but each 16" section could be mounted separately, or in groups of 2, 3, or 4 depending on available space. The sections are grooved steel, pre-drilled with 8 different mounting holes, evenly spaced with 4 on top and 4 on bottom. Only 4 screws are needed to mount each section, but the extra holes are handy in case the studs are offset from the ideal mounting location. Screws and nylon inserts for masonry walls are provided, but in my case, I was mounting it to a stud wall, so I just used the provided screws and drilled pilot holes in the studs. The pieces are all well made and line up easily, and the 4 Hook assemblies snap into place securely without tools, and can be pulled off and relocated to fine tune placement, but once snapped in place, they are solid and secure. Each hook assembly includes an adjustable limiting screw, which could be important if hanging numerous bikes next to each other to prevent the others being knocked too far to the side when hanging or unhanging an adjacent bike. This is a very well designed, well executed system made with quality materials. It works equally well with my road bikes, my mountain bike, and my vintage Raleigh 3-speed. I don't think it would be sufficient to support a heavy e-bike. My only criticism is that if you want to swivel the bike after hanging it, you will need to install a support block for the lower wheel. I didn't mark it down for this because those can be easily acquired at any hardware or sporting goods store, or fabricated with very basic DIY skills. Locating the hook near a corner, as shown in this picture, also solves the issue. I have tried a lot of different bike storage solutions, and this one is excellent, for setting up in an inside, secure location (there is no way to attach a lock to the rack itself). ... show more

  • It’s a swivel bike rack .
It is what it said it was . Nothing more nothing less. It swivels both ways. They need to give you more screws and anchors . A 6 screw per plate is what I went with . 4 didn’t seem right to get a cohesive and flush finish that I was looking for. But seriously a simple install and it fits all my mountain bikes from 26 inch to 29 inch. Rims . For the price you can’t beat it . ... show more

  • Nice Inexpensive way to get your bikes off the garage floor!
Between my wife and I we have four bikes. Currently we have a wall mounted stand which only holds two and it also by the way it is built only holds two bikes... so we have two that can't be stored and two that are. I was in search of a solution and this was a very economical option. It's not fancy but doesn't have to be. For my configuration I was able to hit studs behind the drywall so I didn't have to use the included plastic anchors. I like that the bikes can swivel side to side so when I park to close to the bikes I can kind of squeeze by and the bikes will move out of the way a bit. It's of course not strong enough to store heavy e-bikes but works fine for the old fashioned kind. Now with this stand I can store four bikes in the same basic area as the old stand would only hold two. That's a win for me. Considering the price point and the ease of installation... I don't think you can go wrong. ... show more

  • The hooks are very frustrating!!!
Update: I was contacted by the company, and they seemed sincere. I'm still not a fan of the bike hook attachments, but I'll certainly consider other products of theirs in the future. Original: If you love wrestling with your bike to get the front tire off of the wall, this is 100% the rack for you. I am by no means a frail or short woman; I can lift over 200lbs. That being said, I was unable to get my bike off of the hook without my husband helping me hold it steady. Inherent to the swinging design, the hooks loosen and won't hold themselves in one place when weight is added. This brings about another problem: in order to return this item that I've painstakingly installed in my finished garage (which took me about 1.5 hours, not too bad), I would need to uninstall it again. It's really not worth the trouble. Now that I've said my piece, here are the pros of the design: They utilized a more universal kind of slat that the hooks go on. This means that even if you won't use the bike hooks, you can just buy any other kind of slat wall accessory and it will probably fit. I was able to hook another brand's attachments to this rail. It's also easy to set up, and I would recommend using some sort of laser level for ease of installation. The slat rail comes in multiple pieces, and that means you're able to install them separately throughout your garage or shed. You don't need to install it all as one piece. Overall, I'd give this one a miss and go with something a bit more tested. ... show more
