I don't want to say it was an assembly nightmare but it was by no means an easy process. Each time I'd think, "Man this is the hardest part", I'd get to the next step and be faced with a new challenge. For starters, the instruction manual isn't really effective. Its clear that the instructions were very roughly translated to English from another language. With that, you're left relying heavily upon the images. But sometimes those aren't even as helpful as you'd hope they'd be. I have not yet tested the machine. It does not come with a plate or something to use underneath the materials you're trying to engrave. You'll want to protect the surface of your workspace but the engraver doesn't come with anything to enable that. That said, you'll have to do your research and purchase your own cutting table, preferably a Honeycomb laser bed. If this is something you intend to use regularly, you'll also want to invest in better eye protection. Its nice that they include a set of goggles but they're kind of the bare minimum required. You definitely can't beat the price on this laser. Its definitely not the best it takes a lot of passes to cut just cardboard but as a first timer i have nothing to compare it to. Downloading it to your computer takes a bit especially trying to figure out lightburn. Make sure you read all the info on the usb provided. Join fb groups to figure this out especially if you have never used lasers before. It overheats pretty fast. I have been able to cut and engrave but i haven't even used it for 900 hrs and i can already see the laser is diminishing. ... show more
