The foam mat is not attached- at first that annoyed me but now I realize it’s preferable to an attached one. Because you can take it out, it almost functions like a slide out heat press. You can remove the mat, line up your item on the mat, then put it back in the heat press. If I’m adding decals to 2 sides of a shirt I’ll put the mat inside the shirt for the second side, or just use a smaller pressing pillow if it’s a smaller shirt. If you’re pressing bulky items you can just remove the mat completely and you don’t have to adjust the pressure too much. ... show more

I read a ton of reviews on this and other heat presses. Ultimately, I decided on this one because of the ease of getting the item replaced if something went wrong. There's nothing like a company doing right by their customers, and that's what attracted me to this product and company. Let me tell you something, after receiving multiple flat/clam shell style presses from Amazon and eBay to be unhappy or receive it bent, smashed, hanging out of the box ect. I went through about 6 or 7 300$ and under presses similar to this one and never got what I needed. I went to order this Tusy one day and it was sold out! I was upset by the sell out and contacted Tusy. Tusy responded the same day and assured me they would be back in 2 weeks. 2 long weeks later they DID come back in stock. I have pressed over 100 tees, hat hills, koozies, ect with this press prior to writing a review. It is THEE BEST IN ITS LEVEL OF AFFORDABILITY AND SIZE. the customer service was awesome. It came pre set up on F°. It was shipped FedEx in a sturdy box WITH wood inserts, packed to perfection. Flawless condition and operation. The bottom brace handle on the front is a great feature, also removable. The TUSY logo is printed on and easily is removed with acetone to give a solid black slick look. The timer engages by itself when the press is closes. The bad = 1.The rubber feet on the bottom are not adjustable for table wobble. (But the holes are threaded if you want to add your own adjusters) 2.The clamp handle is hard plastic, not lined in rubber or foam. Looks like a cheap 3D printer cut out. 3.The press triggers a ring when it is turned on and has reached its desired temp. That's fine BUT it does not stop until you go engage and disengage the timer manually. 4.the ring/beep/chime sound it makes when you press buttons or it alarms, the tone fluctuates from high to low so much it sounds like its dying. Not sure if that's on purpose or if the speaker bell thing inside is just cheap. 100% satisfied with this press purchase + tusy as company. Would for sure order more products from them.     • A Heatpress That Will Pay For Itself Quickly
So first I would like to start off by saying, the TUSY is my first heatpress to ever own. I purchased this to start my business and its still with me today. I purchased this last summer July 2019 I believe and its still holding up rather well. Pros & Cons: Pros: Heats up rather quickly, Holds pretty well, Easy to adjust pressure, Heavy/Sturdy build Cons: Support brace under front part of heatpress has started bowing big time, from all the opening and closing. Temperature doesn't really stay consistent and fluctuates, example: You set to 320* but using a heat gun, the temps varry at diffent areas of the heat plate. Left top corner may read 15* lower, another corner 5* higher, etc... You don't get the same even heating across the entire heating element which can be a HUGE issue for you if print 12x12 designs using various types of materials. Lastly, in the last month the machine has been cutting off randomly when in use, tripping the breaker. If using a surge protector it will automatically shut off the powerstrip but not trip the house breaker. Seems to be getting a short in the wiring probably from the heat and frequent use. All in all its a great starter heatpress and will more than likely go very far in your ownership. I'm still using until I find a better option within budget. If your looking for reliability, i would recommend this only if you plan on upgrading within a year or less. If you are a weekly user or run a store/business with frequent use as myself, think about a more expensive model for reliability sake and or use this a backup to your primary. Buy yourself a heat gun to confirm temps or you will have problems. ... show more

    • Worked great for almost 4 years
I bought this press in 2021 and have used it almost daily for my small business. But now it loses pressure after 1 press and the pressure knob is always at max. I've considered a replacement pad but I feel like it's a bigger issue that's causing it to lose pressure. I'm disappointed it only lasted 4 years but it is a great press. ... show more

    • On my second one of these, still love it.
I just bought my second one of these. Giving 5 stars because even though my first one had a heating element go out inside the plate, causing uneven heating, it worked great for me until that happened. And even after I realized it wasn’t heating evenly, I was still able to limp it through some projects until I was able to replace it. I had it for about 3 years before that happened. Wish it had been longer before something went out on it but I still won’t take a star off for it. Just got the new one in today. Seems like it runs maybe 5-10 degrees over the temp I set it too, but I’m already very happy with it. I had been struggling with photo slates due to my first one heating unevenly, but with the new one, I popped two of them out like it was nothing. No uneven heating causing me to ruin the slates. Definitely sad I had to buy a new press but when it works properly, it’s fantastic. ... show more
