I got these as a deterrent as we doubled the size of our flock recently. Put these out before introducing the new hens to the coop. Luckily I put them out before the hens - never had an issue with bears and the FIRST night I had these out we had a bear go over the chickens. Not sure why as the ONLY thing that changed in the past year was introducing these lights. Seemed that they attracted the bear instead of deterred it. Took them down next day and will likely try to return. They did light up bright, and work well with the exception that they brought in predators instead of deterred them. ... show more

These so far are working very well. I use them in my chicken coop to keep predators away, I have them mounted about 12” off the ground right into my coop. I put screws all around my coop so I can move them every few days. This is what the instructions said to do so the predator won’t get use to the same route. I received further instructions and one year warranty in an email after the lights arrived which is great to have if they stop working. So far-so good! They flash a red light and should keep animals away. I charged them I. The sun for a full two days as advised and they’ve worked great. I’ve had them for about one month. Every 3-4 days I just life it off the screw and move it to another screw we strategically placed several around the coop. They don’t shine in the coop do they don’t bother the hens. I really liked these at first. Kept the skunk family away. So I ordered the second set. 3 of 4 of the first set has already died. I couldn't believe it. Sad to say ... Definitely not worth the money or the time.
