Description

Originally introduced in 1966 as a 4x4 compact SUV, the Ford Bronco matured as a full-size truck in the late 1970s, cementing its status as a rugged off- roader. Traxxas honors the classic 1979 Ford Bronco with this beautifully detailed and faithful reproduction mounted on the incredibly capable TRX-4 chassis. From the chrome wheels and bumpers to the gorgeous Sunset or red graphics, the TRX-4 recaptures the Bronco’s iconic era with the toughness and technology that could only come from Traxxas.

  • Great truck
Traxxas makes great R/C cars and trucks. I like the realism and all the parts that can been added.

  • More than I expected
I just opened my TRX-4 Bronco and agree with others that the realism is remarkable. But what really blew me away was; 1) the truck is TQi ready (just need to add the wireless link unit) 2) It came with the 2075X steering servo which I thought I would have to up-grade from the 2075. The truck was well packaged and was received sooner than expected. Just took the Truck out and played with it and it is awesome. ***NOTE If you want to run an NiMh battery you must have a Lipo battery to connect initially in order to TURN OFF the Low voltage detection on the ESC. Otherwise you will only get a slow blinking red light that indicates low voltage. Even a fully charged 8.4 volt NiMh would not work. I want to run the TRX-4 on 8.4 volt NiMh batteries until I can get the motor broken in with out over heating it. Since my wife has our yard full of rocks of all different sizes I had the perfect testing ground. Running on a 3000mah 8.4v NiMh I climbed over rocks I never thought possible and just drove it slowly for that (Scale look). After nearly an hour I decided to let the truck rest to cool off. Everything worked flawlessly. No trouble with the steering servo, the remote axle locks and high and low range worked perfectly. I am very impressed with the quality and performance of the TRX-4 and love the Bronco body. ... show more

  • Kinda small for
Kinda small for a 1/10 scale. Compared to the redcat gen 8 axe edition. But its a great truck not disappointed at all fast pulls really good up hill u want to put bigger tires on it for sure. I've been driving it in mud, water tall grass ,sand and jumped it no problem at all. But gen 8 axe edition is a great truck also for hard the coast ... show more

  • Amazingly versatile truck
This was my first foray back into RC in a few years; the last car I'd owned was a Traxxas T-Max nitro truck, and while that was a fun one, it was finicky to run. This TRX-4 Bronco is an amazing piece of kit, and is tremendously capable yet not intimidating. It is kind of a jack of all trades; you can use it for rock crawling, you can do trail running, and you can just bash around the backyard or let your dog chase it around if you want. There are two transmission settings, hi and lo, which you can select via the remote. You also have three differential settings that you can control remotely: unlocked, front locked, or front and rear locked. With the transmission set to low and the differentials locked, there is very little that can stop this beast- I've climbed up steep rock screes without difficulty. I've been running it for a couple of months, and have had no problems. I've run it with a 2S Lipo battery, and also a 4200 NimH, and honestly for this type of truck, the Lipos aren't really necessary (though it is slightly faster in high gearing, but marginally so). All in all, this is a terrific truck. It's not for you if you're looking for a super fast machine, but it's versatile enough that you can do just about anything else with it. ... show more

I highly recommend. Me and a few friends all got different ones about the same price range and this one beats them all hands down. What a great set up. Looks amazing as well.

  • Gives a lot for a moderate price
Only 4 stars because of no long-term durability testing/use. Other than that, it's really set to go out of the box. Does great in stock form. Traxxas really did the right thing with this ready to run rock crawler. The things that have been cited by other reviewers for being "weak points" are not bad at all for the casual user. The steering servo could be stronger, but is sufficient for out- the -box fun. It looks great and performs well. The instructions to get it up n running are rather quick n easy. It comes with basic tools to get you by with basic needs. The remote is just fine. If you want aftermarket/upgrades, you're going to find anything you want/need to go as crazy as you want. I've rocked this thing in stock form at an informal competition against heavily modded trucks and it did great. Once again, time is needed for durability issues. Not that I've encountered any as of yet. ... show more
