I own 3 of these brushed models and have installed Castle 3800 combos in 2 of them. These 2 have been bashed hard and I have not broken anything at all. I'm running the SW3 ESC mounted in an RPM cage, and that is mounted to a slightly modified Traxxas 3725 esc mounting plate. I'm running a 17 tooth pinion with the stock 54? spur. I tighten the slipper 1/4 turn and nothing else. No issues with durability, everything else has held up to being abused over and over on 2S lipo. I suspect there may be issues with 3S, but if you want to play you gotta pay, right? The 1 issue I have encountered is that the front inner axle joints grind away at the gray plastic camber links. This appears to be an engineering flaw, all 3 of them do this because there is not enough clearance with them installed from the factory. I have contacted Traxxas with no answer as yet. I may move the inner mounting position to the upper hole to see if that helps, hopefully it doesn't mess with the way it handles, which is fantastic out of the box. ... show more

So far overall I am impressed with the toughness and the speed of this truck. I upgraded the batteries to Lipo and it make a great speed and run time difference. The only thing that I didnt like is it only comes with a car charger! So if youre thinking of this truck make sure you get a wall charger with it! ... show more

Great car for bashing! Parts are easily available at most hobby shops too, which is a bonus if you break something. So far, my step son managed to break a camber link on the left front. But it was easily and cheaply fixed, and back in action. Love the adjustable power settings for the less experienced. ... show more

    • It’s a blast to relieve stress !
I do like it. But I am going to upgrade it soon. I need a more powerful motor with a cooling fan. For the price, it is a fun toy. I haven’t had a chance to take it to different places yet. Just use it on my street and a dirt area in front of my house. It is a tough little truck.

Bought this for my 6 year old he loves it. It does die fairly quickly but you can order a battery that last longer that’s what I plan to do.
