I used this for a round trip, 17 hour international flight and a 10 hour round trip bumpy car ride on a dirt road. I really love it. I slept well in my coach seat on the plane. I usually do, but I slept better and more comfortably. My head didn't roll around. It saved me on a bumpy car ride on a dirt road. I was in the back seat. Kept my head steady. Its great support and comfortable. It folds up surprisingly compact in its carrying case, with little effort to pack it in. I highly recommend it. Its my first neck pillow.     • Didn't solve nodding forward for me

Had high hopes for this pricey piece of foam when I tried it on in the house. I had bought it specifically to try and alleviate nodding forward when sleeping. It is indeed very supportive and comfortably snug. The real test, though, was when I wore it while nodding off to sleep on the plane. Didn't work for me--I kept jerking back awake, even with the strap as snug as I could get it and the rubber nubs lodged directly against the headrest fabric. The unit itself didn't slip; it just allowed my head to tilt forward. The sides of my neck were sore before the flight was halfway through. On the return flight, I had a little more success keeping my head upright by wedging the top of the foam up against the bottom of the seat's headrest. This required a slight tilt of the foam piece that made the fit a touch more tight against the neck; some people might not like this but it was endurable in light of it being the only solution that kept my head from tipping forward when I slept. ... show more

I have used a number of different travel pillows over the years (the standard travel pillow, Turtl). Based on a review elsewhere, I decided to give this a try. It's my favorite one. I fly a lot so I decided to invest in a very good pillow. Advantages: 1. It comes folded in a bag, and you don't need to take it on your neck or have it collecting dirt everywhere. 2. It's super supportive, I've slept hours and hours thanks to its support. 3. Its slanted back allows you to get into a great position once you get your headrest back (on the plane) Disadvantages: 1. It's big, not allowing for comfortably wearing over-the-ear headphones. 2. It can be hot at times. 3. The slanted back works well only when the headrest is set back and not upright.     • A Painful, painful mistake

I had a trip with two long (12+ hr) flights, and figured I would spend a little more than usual on a more premium neck pillow. After reading the reviews, both positive and negative, I went ahead and ordered this one. While the pillow seemed comfortable enough when trying it out at home, it was an absolute pain on my flights. I was literally able to sleep with less pain by using NO pillow. Despite boasting a "flat back," it pushed against the back of the neck quite a bit, causing a lot of neck and shoulder pain that lasted some time after. I tried adjusting it multiple times - maybe I should try lying below the seat's headrest? No. Maybe I should loosen the Velcro closure? Maybe I should tighten it? No and no. This pillow MIGHT work for you if your airline has completely flat seats, or if you plan to sleep at the gate, up against a wall, because then the structure would work great. It's very clearly not worth using on any normal, modern plane, though. I almost feel like the company should pay for a neck massage for me, that's how bad the pain is from this truly disappointing pillow. ... show more

I suspected the pillow would fall off of my bag in a crowded airport the moment I got it, and sure enough it only lasted two trips, so be careful of that. Maybe use the stuff sack? Or just don't buy. It's also too bulky. I'm a broad-shouldered, big-headed man and it still created enough separation with the seat back that I was oddly bent forward the whole time. Helped me sleep for the first bit of the flight, but then the back pain took over. ... show more
