  • Awesome cook set, but the picture....
Trangia is awesome, but picture is misleading! If a picture is worth a thousand words then the description comes in last place. So, for the people in the room that don't read descriptions (me) and just look at pictures, read on. I wanted to purchase the full Hard Anodized version of this cook set which is what is pictured, but what I received is something else. The Trangia 27-7 is a shiny aluminum windscreen with the black hard anodized cook set. This is the first purchase that I have made on Amazon that was not what was in the picture. What I wanted, which was the result of research after my item arrived and I saw..., was the Trangia 27-1 which is the full HA version of this stove. I suppose I could take away some stars for the possible false advertising, but I couldn't. This cook set is just awesome. I already have experience with the Trangia brass stove, ultra light stands, and titanium pots. That experience also includes the use of Trangia and other fuel stoves in substantial winds. I doubt I will carry anything else. When I want hot something, and it is windy, I WANT something hot. So, although I would like to have a serious sit down with the monk that developed doubt entry accounting, I would love to give a big bear hug to the person(s) who designed this little kit. I was always amazed at the wasted BTUs that other stoves produce, but this little beauty keeps the heat on the pots all the way to less than an inch from the top rim. This burner is also very quiet compared to the afterburning roar of some of my other stoves. I am sure that the native forest dwellers enjoyed the sound of my little ram jet at meal time. I have already made two batches of tea with their optional .6L tea pot on this stove. This may sound like an ad for the set, but this is an editorial on a personally purchased product that has a coolness factor that drowned out my buyer's remorse. So, while you wear my shoes and think up some "yea, buts' I will go make some more tea. ... show more

  • Great all in one cook kit
What can be said about the Trangia cook systems? They have been around for decades for good reason. They are a solid bit if kit with no parts or mechanisms that might be prone to failure. Are they the quickest cookers available, No. But they are fast enough and solidly built. Mine has the anodized pots and pan and I would opt for the non-stick pan if I were to buy another, in fact I may purchase one separately. Very happy with the purchase and using it. ... show more

  • This is the 27-5 (non-stick) UL NOT the 27-7 like the description says.
This is the 27-5 (non-stick) UL NOT the 27-7 like the description says. This was not clear to me when I ordered it. This means that the 2 pots and the fry pan have a non stick coating instead of just the plain hard anodized coating. This was a minus for me, as I am not partial to non stick coatings because they always come off (presumably in your food). However, Amazon did make it right by refunding a portion of the price so I can't complain because it turned out to be a good deal. It is kinda on the heavy side, but my girlfriend enjoys it so when she's along I bring this instead of my Esbit cook set. Do I love it? Not by any means, but it is a good cook set. ... show more

  • One of my favorite cooking systems
Probably overkill to boil water for ramen noodles, but this cooking system rocks for everything else. The self contained windscreen/pot stand, and the larger capacity pots plus a pan are just the thing for the backpacking gourmet. Following some tips on YouTube related to the Trangia cook sets, I've been able to dry bake and fry my way into some delicious alternatives to typical backpacking meals. Love it, and will carry it more often than not unless I only plan to boil water for my meals. ... show more

  • Really convenient
I'm really glad that I spent the extra money and bought this stove set. Its such a pleasure cooking with these. And the pots are so smooth, that usually they only need to be rinsed off with water and your fingers. You don't need to scrub or use soap. The stove is really quiet compared to those high performance jet boilers. I love it! ... show more
