  • The Heat - The heat feature in the AudioFlare is perfect for a cool evening, and when you want to take the room temperature down a few degrees in a flash. The heater has two settings, 750W and 1500W, and will help add supplemental heat. Touchstone recommends mounting the fireplace at least 8 inches below any flatscreen TV or artwork sharing the same wall. There is also a heat timer which automatically shuts off the heat feature in a timeframe from 30 minutes to 7.5 hours.
  • The Installation - The AudioFlare can be used for in-wall installations or it can be hung on the wall. Mounting brackets and hardware are include for both installations. Looking for a quick, simple install, the easy to level mounting bar makes hanging on a wall simple.

This fireplace is fantastic. My wife asked for an electric fireplace in our bedroom for her Christmas gift. It took a while to find the right unit and I definitely found the right one. It looks great, works great and my wife was blown away. The price and features were also a big plus. The unit is very simple to operate and offers three different color flames and the level of brightness can also be adjusted. One of the best features is that the unit has bluetooth speakers. I was able to sync my cellphone with the speakers and play crackling fire sounds from a YouTube video. That feature is awesome. My wife chose to use the crystal rocks but it also comes with a fire log insert. The rocks along with the stainless steel front gives it a very modern look which goes perfect in our room. The installation process can be as easy or complicated as you desire. It comes with hardware to be mounted to a wall or if you're more of the adventurous type, you can install it inside your wall. I chose to install it inside my wall because of the clean look and it fit perfect in my wall that has 2x4 studs. There are a couple of things to keep in mind if you decide to install it in your wall. First, don't completely trust the directions in regards to how big to cut the hole. I was very careful measuring everything. I cut the hole based on the instructions but I should have trusted my gut and cut the holes slightly smaller than the instructions. In the end the until still fit but I didn't have enough space on the sides to use the anchors that were provide to hold the unit in the wall. I had to improvise in order to make it work. I also had too much space at the top of the unit. The stainless front barely covered the hole at the top. Again, the hole could definitely be smaller than the instructions. Secondly, the unit has an electrical cord that is located in the back of the unit and the unit will be completed flushed in wall. This means that you're going to have to figure out how to run the cord out of the wall. I was fortunate that I could easily run the cord out the back of the wall. I also installed an electrical outlet to accommodate the unit on the other side of the wall. Just make sure you plan accordingly before you cut out a hole in the wall. This is not an install that you want to rush through. It took me a day and a half to complete the installation by myself and I spent a couple of hours just planning my installation steps and writing down materials I would need. It's a great unit and I think it was well worth the effort based on the results and my wife's reaction. We have no plans on using the heating feature so I didn't make any comments regarding it. ... show more

Bought this for my husbands father’s day gift 2018. Part of the garage renovation. We had a partially finished room renovation and this fireplace addition was in my planning to finish the walls and insulation. He LOVES IT. We had the Touchstone fire place recessed in the wall. Our contractor reviewed the how to video my husband found online by googling the name of the product also attached here on Amazon. Contractor found the video easy to understand. Please don’t ask me specifics on installation or electrical connections. Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to assist in that area. Initially the contractor thought the fireplace would pull too much power but he had no problems hardwiring the unit. One thing I did was waiver back and forth and put in some research with making my purchase reading reviews and deciding on this fireplace and including a smart TV with this Bluetooth capable fireplace before buying and telling my husband. That way I was hoping to have all the audio and visual man cave basis covered. While I waivered the contractor finished the wall and hung the TV mounts. After I let the cat out the bag, the finished wall was then torn out (allowing 12 inches between fireplace and TV per manufacturer recommendations) and rebuilt with an inner supporting wall per video instructions for a second time oops. Contractor gave me a little side eye. But most won’t have that problem lol. The room is currently empty so I’m not sure if that is helping the acoustics but the Bluetooth sounds great in this fireplace. The Bluetooth is easy to use and the connection is awesome. I appreciate that the system verbally confirms when you are interacting and connecting. Also the blue flashing lights aid in letting you know the system is on and you are headed in the right direction. No fumbling and guessing. You can also feel when you impress the button to activate the bluetooth. This fireplace is not a cheap throw together. The Touchstone remote operates fine, it is small and fits on the tv wall mount shelf and has the necessary range. Mounted under a smart TV that will also have a sound bar eventually. He is already Christmas shopping lol. We are using the Touchstone mostly for the visual now and to take the chill off later in the year. It’s still summer so I can’t tell you how well it heats a room but the unit does put warm up quickly when you turn it on. We enjoy sitting around a fire the last day in October when the kiddos come for harvest. So this year will be spent around the touchstone. The ambiance of the 3 color fire and the musical selection has been a real treat. We have a mirrored non recessable fireplace in the bedroom by another manufacturer although nice, the remote has limited range even when standing directly in front of the fireplace. Touchstone hands down all around is a much better product. Thanks Touchstone for making an affordable yet chic elegant and timeless fireplace we will enjoy for years to come. ... show more
