I got this center kickstand to replace the original one on my 26 inch mountain bike, which already had a center plate. It arrived in the packaging shown in my picture with the contents (minus the short bolt which I had already put on my bike) mentioned in the description on the Amazon website. It did not come with installation directions so I referred back to the description on the Amazon website. Even if you don't refer to those directions on the website you can still figure out how to install the kickstand. My bike already had a plate so I had to use the short bolt and my pliers to tighten it because I didn't have a socket wrench that would fit the bolt. The kickstand is placed underneath the plate and the bolt is then inserted from the top. After it was secured to the bike frame, I then used the provided Allen wrench to loosen the screw to adjust the height of the kickstand to my preference. In less than 5 minutes you're done with the installation. The kickstand goes up and down with no problems. The kickstand seems to be made of metal and the foot of rubber like mentioned in the description; it feels pretty solid and sturdy. I'd definitely recommend this brand. ... show more

The mounting bracket worked well except for the large Allen wrench needed. A regular bolt head would have been easier to tighten. Also, the stand leg is somewhat flimsy. I pushed on it to rotate the bracket and the leg bent. Also, the rivet holding the leg to the bracket is very loose so there is lots of wiggle to it. ... show more

The short version: Don't buy this. It isn't worth damaging your bike. The long version: I bought this because I recently did an ebike conversion and wanted a beefier kickstand than the cheap stock kickstand that came with my bike. I installed it a few days ago and was initially happy with it. I only have gone on 3 rides since I installed it. When at home, by bike is stored on a platform in my rear foyer next to the stairs down to my basement. Last night when I'm eating dinner, I hear a huge crash noise come from my rear foyer. I was the only one home. It turns out, the kickstand just snapped and sent my bike crashing down my basement staircase. This damaged by bike, new ebike battery, and new rear bike rack. When you look closely at the metal where it broke, there aren't any bend marks. The metal just looks brittle. The listing says it is made of aluminum, but aluminum isn't that brittle. You know what hasn't broken? The cheap stock kickstand that came with the bike. ... show more

I left a three star review because I was hoping that maybe if I did that someone from the company would see and replace the broken kickstand. I bought it through Amazon so they only let me return them after 30 days but it’s been about 60 days. I guess if nobody contacts me for a replacement then I will come back later and change it to a one star. I’m sure it was just a freak defect because pretty good reviews overall. Got a new GT Aggressor for my teeanager and bought this stand since we needed something that was not center mount. First we took it to Dick's Sporting Goods where the bike was being assembled and without even opening it they told us that it wouldn't work..... but we came home and installed it ourselves. Works great. Love the extra bracket they put on this kickstand. It stablelizes it from moving. So this is the second part of my review after having it on my bike for a day. So with the kickstand in the back of frame it allows me to work on my. If you have freewheel like me the pedal doesn't hit the kickstand anymore. Love it ... show more
