I can see how this would be good for coin enthusiasts but for jewelry purposes not so much. I’ll keep it because it’s good for checking prongs and settings but not for appraising. I recently picked up the TOMLOV DM702 10.1" Digital Microscope for around $100, and I'm thrilled with its performance. There’s a 10% off coupon available now that I missed. The imagery is crisp and bright, making it easy to see every detail. This microscope is simple enough for a teen to use but still provides the quality I need for my projects. I use it mainly for grading coins and working on the various items I'm always building. It’s lightweight and easy to handle, even during long sessions. The LED light source and the 1300x magnification are perfect for getting a clear view of tiny details. Note that the magnification includes video zoom. Native magnification via lenses is about 50 to 60x. Setting it up was straightforward, and the battery-powered design means I can move it around without hassle. Feeling like I should have purchased better quality - not even a month and its already defective. My elderly dad collects coins and got him this bc the screen size so he can see. Bought this above 40$ microscopes and while I appreciate the screen size, the light on the device is turning on and off randomly while the device is off. Trying to return item is a challenge as it was a gift and I am not there to assist since he lives 1000 miles away. This issue happened in less than a montj and less than 3 uses.
