The Titan ControlMax 1700 High Efficiency Airless sprayer provides serious DIYers and handymen high output with more control and less mess. It can be used on interior and exterior jobs with unthinned paints and stains on walls, ceilings, and exterior finishes. The High Efficiency Airless (HEA) system decreases overspray by up to 55% while delivering a softer spray ensuring a consistent finish every time. The ControlMax sprays up to .33 gallon per minute through the 515 spray tip (ideal for latex paints) and has adjustable pressure from the .60 horsepower motor. Different HEA sized tips are sold separately to match your coating and project needs. The sprayer pulls paint directly from a 1 or 5 gallon paint can for added convenience, plus when you’re done painting you can store your tips and tools in the integrated storage. Very impressed at how nice a unit this is. This is my first airless sprayer and it took a little getting used to but soon provided excellent results. Instructions were very good and geared for the first timer so setup and learning was relatively painless. It is amazing that a unit this nice is this cheap - I have since used some "high end" sprayers and other than some nice to have features, this Titan does an equally good job and is as easy to use. Don't let anyone kid you, cleaning paint sprayers is not easy, even though many say they have auto cleaning modes. There is little difference between most modern sprayers when it comes to cleaning and it is entirely up to you as to how clean you want them to get. You will never be so happy as when you take out the sprayer for the next job that you did a thorough cleaning job when you put the sprayer away the last time you used it. ... show more

    • Problem is... I keep painting

I am a general contractor and dont always do the painting on my remodels. When the job is smaller, I'll do it to make a little more on the job. I spent several years as a full time painter when I was younger. I'm familiar with all the fancy sprayers but couldn't justify spending that kind of money. The problem with this thing is, it works so good I keep doing the painting. Pro tips... buy the filter/swivel, part number Wagner 0580611-B / 580611. This will give you a filter at the gun to keep if from clogging, not to mention the swivel which is a must. Make sure the tips you buy start with 353- then the tip size. Example 353-517. I learned the hard way that there are tips that look the same but will not fit. Same for the hose and gun. These parts are special for this sprayer. Make sure you do your homework and find out what size tip you need for your application. The tip that comes with it is the most popular for household paints. You can usually find this on the can of paint. If not, ask. I've sprayed several houses now with this set up, including cabinets, with great results. It's not meant for the painting contractor but, for someone who occasionally needs to hose a house a house, its great ... show more

delivery was really fast and the tiitan was smaller than I pictured. but after looking @ videos and reading the directions, I started it up. i had a graco sprayer before and was used to an airless paint sprayer, but chose the titan because of the 55% less overspray feature. there are several items a new owner should be aware of. 1. before using paint, i used water to get used to the machine and how it works …..so that i don't have any surprises and get to know the machine's operation. * before you prime the paint, put the smaller return tube into a waste bucket until the water is gone and the paint begins to flow. otherwise you will have water in the bottom of the paint can. 2. when you are finished, and running soapy water through the machine, don't forget to run the water through the spray gun and spray nozzle as well. otherwise, the paint will dry in the nozzle and render it useless! 3. there seemed to be very little overspray, but just to be sure, i sprayed on a still day and let my neighbor know that i was paint spraying so that he would close his garage door and make sure his car was safe. ... show more

    • Product lasted 1 hr and Amazon won't replace product even though its less than 90 days from purchase!

Stay away from this product. Purchased through Amazon a couple months back when it was on sale. Went to use the item on 4/7/18 and it worked for about an hour before it just stopped spraying. Tried all the steps to get the machine to work again and nothing. The Spray/Prime knob is plastic and a joke as far as functionality and ability to actually read which is which on the knob. After 3 hours of trying to get this to work again I have a half painted house. Amazon says the product can't be returned or replaced yet I have no idea who it should go to to address this. Product is less than 3 months old, used once and I'm out $300. I also purchased the extended warranty but it does't start until after the manufacture warranty which is a year. So I guess I have to wait for a year to get this replaced as Amazon has no customer service to speak to on this matter. I would recommend to all future buyers of this product as well as other product of similar nature, pay the little bit extra and purchase from a physical store like the Big Box stores, at least then you can return it when it doesn't work and get a replacement and finish the job your trying to do!!!!! ... show more

    • BAD Mistake! I'm STUCK

I ordered and had this sprayer delivered to my house -- excellent service! ONLY I had it shipped to my house 800 miles from where I was and needed it -- MY mistake. So I reordered another one, and used it -- great sprayer -- no complaints! Four months later I get home to find the first one which I do not now need! BUT my return date has expired! What do I do with an unopened sprayer??? Why can they not take back a brand new shrinkwraped sprayer??? Help! ... show more

Used to spray Lifetime Wood Treatment. The product is mostly water but works well. Thus it was easy to spray. Did not need to worry about drips. Performed beyond expectations. Saved a bunch of time. Only needed improvement is the knob for priming and spaying is difficult to read. Almost impossible.

I bought a Titan ControlMax 1700 sprayer to put stain on a wood fence. In reading the manual I found the included tip is for interior and exterior water based paint, that a 311 tip is necessary for spraying stain. Glad I caught that. Used the sprayer and the 311 tip to stain a 4 section wood fence on both sides and it came out great. I did have to stop 3/4 of the way through the job and remove the tip, seemed like some air got in the line, after clearing the line everything ran fine. I plan on using it to paint exterior wood siding on the house. ... show more

Extremely easy to use and cost effective, had a large 20 x 60 deck which took around 3hrs, including the lattice work. Now moving in to interior. For the price this tool can’t be beat. Highly recommend , easy to use easy to clean
