  • Great and Easy
Size: 1TB
I ordered this tiger SECU to replace a system that I’ve had nothing but problems with so I just anticipated that this was going to be a long hard night setting up my cameras getting everything on an app so I can view it on my phone, but I was wrong!!!!! Let me just say this is a plug-in system. I literally plugged it in plugged my cameras in the back, and it immediately showed my cameras on my monitor. I then was prompted by the system to download the app, and it walked me through a very easy process of a QR code, and Walla. My app on my phone was up and running. It literally took me 15 minutes to unboxed it and install it most of the time was taking the cables off the old device and getting the old device out of the way it was setting up the system I highly highly recommend the system. It has HD quality that surpasses tenfold my other system. My other system was an LTS garbage the uploads fairly fast and the picture is super clear. If there’s any changes I will update my review ... show more

  • A Good DVR
Size: 2TB
I got the TIGERSECU Super HD 1080P 8-Channel and I am not disappointed. My old DVR was dying and I was willing to try a less expensive one. I have some older cameras including two PTZ cameras. The DVR automatically configured all cameras after hook up. Since I already had a splitter for the RS485 terminals (PTZ,) it was simply a matter of swapping DVRs to get the cameras going. The mouse is not as responsive but support said to use a mousepad which I will try. Also, it's a little harder selecting the start time on playback but I can deal with that. I saw a bad review on this page that I don't agree with. I suspect the person has connection issues but everything else was not valid in my opinion except the mouse issue. Overall I'm happy with this DVR and the price. Also, support was awesome and that was a deciding factor. ... show more

  • From 5 stars to 4 in less than a month.

My Night Owl from 2016 just died. After confirming that my 8 cameras were compatible with the TIGERSECU system, I bought it. Was delivered within 24 hours. Once plugged in, all systems were go. It took some time to become accustomed to the nuances for setting-up specific options, but the manual was a great resource. Setting up the remote Android program was smooth. I am very impressed with the HD quality of my cameras. The color saturation and clarity is 100% cleaner than with my previous DVR. I am glad I chose not to replace the hard drive on that unit, only to find something else was bad. This was a great purchase at a reasonable price.....Updated 08/18/22....Numerous hardware/software glitches. No matter what I do, the correct time flips to a different time several hours away, daily. The motion sensing and respective alerts are off the hook, regardless of moving the sensitivity 1-100 or 100-1, even when deleting all possible camera views, down to a single, solitary target, such as a door handle or window sill. I've been back and forth with both mobile apps, as they both have different issues. However, the DVR does come right up on my mobile devices, something Night Owl often failed at After hours of trying to add the DVR to my computer to view, I opted to just use my cellphone, tablet and monitors for viewing. I still like the camera resolution quality. Like most electronic these days, compatibility with many devices can be hit or miss. We'll see what else comes up. ... show more

  • VERY GOOD CCTV DVR!
Size: 2TB
I purchased this Tigersceu CCTV DVR to replace my old Night Owl unit that had quit working. I had a little trouble getting the remote viewing setup at first but realized it was because I hadn't run the setup wizard first, once I had done that it was very easy. The Tigersceu DVR worked with my old wired cameras so all I had to do was plug them into the new unit. I like this DVR much better than my previous Night Owl system and I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Clunky ripoff
Size: 0TB
This "TIGERSECU Super HD 1080P 8-Channel Hybrid 4-in-1 DVR" is clunky, slow, and feels barely functional. It struggles to view a single video playback and will frequently skip frames while doing so. When recording with motion detection, it sometimes decides to trigger a motion event when the area with motion is eliminated from motion detection. When looking at the basic features of playback, it's incredibly lacking, giving no ability to simply view the video files in a folder as an option, but instead gives a timeline with lines you sometimes can't even click on because the motion of the mouse cursor may skip over the single pixel of that line. You can individually select the hours/minutes/seconds for playback from their respective boxes, but that process is far more lengthy to do than clicking the timeline. Even when playing back the video, you'll find issues with playing at a normal speed if you've decided to speed through some of the footage, or rewind it, then return to a regular playback speed, as the only way to return to a regular playback speed is to pause the video, then click play. However, doing so can then cause the playback to halt for a few seconds as it's supposedly playing it, then skip over those seconds of footage when it finally decides to show the video rather than a still image. If that's not bad enough, it can't even keep track of time! Sure, you can set the time and date, but it's essentially useless because it'll slowly drift and become inaccurate. I have a 20-year-old digital alarm clock that can keep track of time without any problems, yet this thing will grow to be about 1 minute ahead of time with about every passing week. So, every few weeks or so, I have to reset the time on it to be correct. I told them about this issue about a year ago, so they've had plenty of time to fix it, but they apparently don't care, because their newest firmware for it was released, according to their site as I'm posting this, 9 months ago, and it didn't fix it. Their only response to this was to tell me to connect the DVR to a server so it can automatically update the time settings. NO! How about you actually program something functional and not have it feel like a high school project! It should be capable of keeping time WITHOUT an internet connection! Overall, this feels like a $20 toy being sold for 6.5 times that cost. I'm tired of resetting the time, I'm tired of motion detection triggering a recording when something in an exempted region moves, I'm tired of the clunky interface, and I'm just tired of how dated and cheap the whole thing feels. You can't even give it a great deal of accuracy for that motion detection, nor is it capable of discerning specific shapes. All you can do is toggle large squares and hope it actually decides to cooperate when those squares are disabled. Even then, it's not possible to see WHICH of those squares is where the motion is being detected. Oh, it's also not possible to enter any presets beyond 127, so if your camera has a function outside of the range 0-127, as mine does, you can't use that function. It's also not possible to manually reset it without completely unplugging it, or by changing the scheduled automatic reset time so it triggers immediately after you set it. The only means of manually resetting it is to click its "Shutdown" button in the "Maintenance" window, then you can unplug it and plug it back in. Even the remote for it has been utterly useless, so it's something I didn't bother with after the first day of having the thing. No idea how this is considered a good DVR, as all the information I found about it before my purchase claimed it to be. This is an atrociously pathetic DVR that no one should buy. I demand better, so I'll NEVER be purchasing anything from Tigersecu ever again. ... show more
