  • Why do these cost as much as they do? 4 pieces of rubber and 4 clamps
Style: Kit 1304
Why do these cost as much as they do? They do the job but overpriced.

  • Not perfect...
Style: Kit 1746
I'm not sure where to complain, but the feet did not line up with my cars hood perfectly. While the front end width was correct the back end I had to readjust to fit my car. I was lucky I guessed right the first time. The bars seem to fit snug against the car. My complaint is the the feet can't angle and therefore can't rest against the edge of the rood itself. This has more to do with with the traverse foot pack than the feet. The front end is snug while the back end sticks out of vice versa. I own a 2016 Corolla. Overall these were easy to put together and install on the car. Took me about a half hour. Because the parts are all sold separate the hard part is gathering all the instructions together and making sure you're doing everything right. Once they are put together installing them on the car is a very simple project. I got the 480R foot packs and the aeroblade package. They are a lot more sturdy than they appear, they are also light weight considering how solid they feel. I have no doubt they will hold on my car roof. You can go to the Thule website and they will tell you what you need for your vehicle. I bought all my parts from various places to save money as they are expensive. I like the fact that all I need for the most part are a new foot system should I ever want to install this on a different car. ... show more

  • Thule is worth the price!!!
The price for a Thule setup is quite the pill to swallow when searching for roof racks. I tried out a few other brands that were significantly cheaper, and they were terrible!!!! Thule is worth every cent. Our rack is installed on a 2016 Nissan Versa Note Hatchback. We are driving from Columbus, OH to Seattle, WA and after 1200 miles it has not budged. The only critique that I have is the installation dimensions. I had to change X and Y distance slightly for a more secure fit. The W and Z dimensions I did not change. ... show more

  • Terrible instructions but functions well for a 2020 Audi Q3
Style: Kit 4027
Works great with AeroBlade Edge 7603 on a 2020 Audi Q3. No issues with clearance on sunroof either, but the pictures here are not accurate, and the Thule instructions are ridiculously terrible. Could not find good videos on Thule website either. I thought the silver bar color matched the silver roof rails well. ... show more

  • Very well designed and constructed rack
Style: Kit 1064
This review is for 3 parts, the 47"Aeroblade, the 480R foot packs, and the Kit1064 fit kit. I have an old Yakima Rack that I used for snowboarding. It spent a couple years in attics, and to keep from loosing the foot pads, I had duct taped them to the Q towers. I don't foresee the need for tape with Thule's system. The design and construction of each of the above mentioned pieces is every bit as good as it looks in the pictures. I was very impressed. I don't think there were instructions included with the blades, or with the 1064 Fit kit, but they were included with the 480R traverse foot packs. For the most painless installation instructions, go to Thule's site, click on fit guide, and input your vehicle data, select your rack, then download the PDF installation instructions. There are 3 dimensions you'll need to install these rack; 1. the distance between your foot packs on the blades 2. the distance between your front foot pack and windshield 3. the distance between the front and rear blades Once you have those 3 numbers (that are vehicle make and model specific) search youtube for "How to Install Thule 480 Traverse Roof Rack Presented by Rack Outfitters". This 5min professionally made video has no talking. It just shows a guy installing the rack with some text where needed. Rack Outfitters really made this install idiot proof with this video. As highly as I think of the Thule system, I am returning mine. It does not allow me to drive out of my garage with my kayak on the rack on my Tacoma. I don't think this rack sits too tall, and I don't consider my kayak excessively tall (its a WS Tarpon120). I don't think my Tacoma with 31" tires is too tall. I fault the architecture of my home. What was sold to us as a "2 car attached garage" could be more accurately described as a 1.5 car garage. Or 1 car with room to walk around it. I'd really like to have a talk with whoever in modern home building decided to designate 7' as an adequate height for a garage door. Of the 4 trucks I've owned while living in this house, only 2 have fit in my garage. For me to be able to drive out of my garage, with the kayak on the roof, it has to sit flush (or very nearly) with the top of the cab. It looks like the only kit that will allow this out of the box is the Thule Xporter 500. At $584 on amazon compared to the $372 I paid for this setup, it's a quite a price increase, but based on my opinion of this system, I'm sure it will be equally engineered. That extra $200 will save me 5-10mins each time I need to load my kayak. If ease of loading the kayak on the truck gets me on the water more, then over time, it will be worth it. ... show more

  • Well worth the cost for the security
Style: Kit 1192
I purchased this kit along with the 480 traverse foot pack and the LB50 roof rack load bars. The picture instructions are a bit archaic IMO but probably saves a lot of paper for multi language instructions. Be sure to look over all the instructions along with identifying all the parts and see how they go together before going out to the car. This kit is to fit a Dodge neon, and has clips that slide on the rib along the roof over which the doors close. The rubber seal slides off the rib, and slides back onto the clips very well. The rubber cushions fit the roof lines well, and the roof is strong where they show to install the feet. The kit comes with alan wrenches with T handle that serves as a torque indicator - when the center deflects the fasteners are torqued correctly and it becomes a very solid and secure mount. I have carried two kayaks on this rack a couple hundred miles now with absolutely no problems. When not using the rack it takes just a few moments to loosen the fasteners and remove the rack, leaving the body clips in place as they are nearly unnoticeable by themselves. Very good engineering and does not injure the car in any way. ... show more

  • Perfect fit on flush mount rails.
Style: Kit 4030
The Thule crossbars and podium foot kit fit perfectly and hold tightly to the flush mount rails. As always the Thule products are well made and look good. My last set of Thule crossbars were moved to my wife's new car and still look good and as solid as ever after 11 years in use.
