  • It's okay but kind of pricey...if you can afford it, multiples are probably good, otherwise a weighted sleeve may be cheaper bet
I like the therabands (I use the 2.5 lbs). If you can get these for like 20 bucks or less (not including shipping), then these are worth their price. They strap well and the velcro is durable. I don't get too much rust on these guys and they aren't like other cheaper products I have used which feel like they are going to just leak or break... They are comfortable...In my case, I'd prefer 3x per lower arm on each arm (I own 2 sets) which I use for cardio and a cheaper weighted wrap which I use right below the elbow. It may be a bit unfomfortable around the wrists or you may find it too tight if you use that as your main location, also, expect some shifting of the theraband if you do some more intensive cardio where the arms may be moving more (the band can still be comforttable even if it shifts or remains in a set position). Probably one of the better products on the market, however, I probably would have been more satisfied first, purchasing a body tog for the arm which is close to 3.7 lbs (for L-XL) and I saw them on amazon for I think 15 bucks more than this and it covered the majority of the lower arm (then I'd probably "upgrade" to weighted band(s) or place these over a weighted sleeve if you can. Worth the price you pay in my opinion. You may, first time use(s) get some blistering or minor blister if you use a heavy weight (which is why I recommend a weighted sleeve or something less heavy to start with) - I started with the 2.5s which is fine, but first week you may have a bit of redness or blister or tightness of skin as you adjust to the new weight. Another cool thing you can do with these, is, get this: "wear them to bed." You heard me right...if you can tolerate it, and need to add some extra resistance...believe it or not, use them in bed (you may feel it a bit in the morning...), I've done this before with light weighted vest on the chest or even for bicep wraps and have used these also for added weight during sleep because I don't have time to be a gym rat all the time. Of course, the comfort of falling asleep with weighted equipment on is another story (you might need a tranq...but, in the morning, you feel a mini workout). Enjoy. ... show more

  • Good for Low Intensity Things
Color: Blue - 2.5 Lbs Each
This is my first wrist weight set. I bought the 5-lb set, complete with 2 2.5-lb wrist cuff weights. They were a lot bigger/bulkier than I had anticipated, but I guess that's where they get the weight. The inner lining is made of a somewhat soft terry cloth - not cashmere, but nothing to scoff at. The velcro strap was long and adjustable, but because the cuff itself is large, it will only tighten to a certain extent. I by no means have delicate, feminine wrists, hence the need to work out, but even when tightened until it would tighten no more, it would still slide up and down a little. With my arms hanging by my side, it was no problem. There was some pressure due to them being weights, but nothing uncomfortable. I also liked how they didn't have removable sand bags so no fear of things sliding out and bruising poor unsuspecting toes. However, I was using these for the Wii Active and though there is some resistance training with measured moves, there are other more intense workouts like boxing. With the intensity from trying to hit every target, the cuff would knock back and forth. The terry cloth softened the blows but towards the end, there was some slight redness and irritated-looking skin. If the workout was twice as long, perhaps even the beginnings of a bruise. I had purchased this to replace the torn resistance band that came with the game and I thought it could also have other uses, so I wouldn't have to drag around the resistance band (since having weird, heavy pillows on my wrist are much more portable). All in all, I'm still fairly satisfactory with this, but I would use it more for things like walking, stretches, or even housework to help tone the arms. With the Wii, perhaps I may try it as ankle weights or I would pick and choose which activities it would work best with. ... show more

  • Great Idea - Need to be sized down a little more for small wrists also.
Color: Blue - 2.5 Lbs Each
I like the concept, my only complaint is that the velcro is not adjustable for smaller wrists. I am an average sized woman 5'6 136 lbs, but I have smaller wrists. Thees cuffs would work okay for my ankles, but I don't use them for my ankles, only my wrists. Pulling them as tight as I can, leaves too much space, and they flop around on my wrists. I don't know a solution for that adjustment problem. If someone has an idea, please share. (Added 7/15/2017) I solved the problem of the cuffs being to loose on my wrists by buying stretchy wrist wraps that I put on first. Then I put on the Thera-Bands on top of the wrist wraps. Now they stay in place. So, if anyone else has the problem of the cuffs to loose on their wrists. The stretchy bands are an option. I also want to mention that I have had these cuffs for a couple of years and use them almost daily. They have held up well with only minor wear and tear. Nothing ever leaks from them, as some people were concerned about. I use them only on my wrists, and I have noticed improvement in my arms' muscle tone. I fractured my left arm about 5 years ago. I was not able to get surgery done right away because it was in the midst of a holiday season. I lost a lot of muscle tone in my left arm having it wrapped for several weeks with little movement. My muscles atrophied quickly. Then there was the surgery and weeks more that I was not able to use that arm.it was difficult for be to not be able to hit tennis balls with the force I was used to.. But using these cuffs has helped those atrophied muscles become strong again. ... show more
