The weight is 35 pounds rather than the usual 45 pounds. In a way this was good for me cause this is my first time and wanted to make sure I will be able to use it well enough. So, I've had this bar for maybe three weeks now, and it's great. Seems like it would be kinda hard to mess-up an olympic barbell, but other products had less positive reviews when compared to this one and there's a good reason. This bar is perfect. It's a great value for the money, same quality you would see in a gym and use every day. I've been benching only like 150lbs, doing many sets, and this bar is sturdy, solid, and safe. It got here faster than expected (by a few days) and was double packaged and wrapped extremely well. The packaging wasn't pretty, but it did the job. This is a great Barbell for the price. You aren't buying a Rogue barbell or anything like that, so don't expect that level of a barbell, but you also aren't paying those high prices. For the normal at home gym doing less than 1000 lb lifts, this is totally sufficient, and for the prices, it can't be beat.
