  • A THRILLING SUSPENSE.
The first half concerning black op protagonist Chase Fulton, and his beloved Russian Anya, was enthralling, in their hunt for a missing Coach's daughter. Unfortunately, the mesmerizing revelations ceased with the entrance of newly-found Skipper. Authenticity lacking in both Chase's and Skipper's subsequent reactions, and the drama which follows. Highly recommend the captivating first volume "The Opening Chase." ... show more

  • Great book
This is the second book in the series and I wasn't disappointed. I had a very difficult time putting it down. It was very enjoyable.

  • The sting of deception
Even the toughest have a soft spot, a longing to be loved. Unfortunately there are also many who have perfected the art of deception.

  • ...slow build only resulted in a series of events and scenes that never rose to excitement.
Book Review - In Cap Daniel’s “The Broken Chase,” protagonist Chase Fulton’s vow to a mentor and beloved friend sends him on a tumultuous quest through the criminal underworld of South Florida only to rescue an innocent young woman who represents not only Chase’s painful past, but also may be his only hope for psychological survival in the future. Cap Daniel’s knack for spinning a tale full of intrigue and action, with a sense of humor only makes the reader want to read the next book in the series, but unfortunately, not with this one. Book two, The Broken Chase of the Chase Fulton series really didn’t ‘thrill’ me as much as others have in the series. Although Cap Daniels throws a number of curveballs for the ‘twist and turn’ aspect of the story, The Broken Chase was slow on the build up, and light on the execution of ‘action.’ Overall it was a decent read but not as thrilling as I had hope. All throughout the story it felt too much like it was ‘Chase Fulton against the world’ and of course the hero comes out on top at the end, but there was nothing special in differentiating it from other decent adventure thriller novels. The second book in any series is always the hardest. Expectations are high from the success of book one and book two is always expected to be just as good, if not better. However, The Broken Chase suffered the ‘literary sophomore curse’ in my opinion. I enjoyed the first book in the series but again, the second one was just okay. It really didn’t move me to rush out and get book three. I thought the beginning of this story was like a rollercoaster climb - slowly building up the excitement until you get to the top then a huge rush as you finish the ride/read. Nope, not with this one. The slow build only resulted in a series of events and scenes that never rose to the level of excitement like other Cap Daniels novels. I like the Chase Fulton character and will continue the series with the hope that some of the later novels are much more improved than book two. Not a bad read but not a great one either… ... show more

  • Great read...
I am really enjoying the main character in these books. The action never seems to stop. I like the fact that the main character isn't perfect. And he makes mistakes.

  • Hard to Put Down !
I’ve gone through the first four in the series and am about to start Book 5 in this series. Loads of fun reading, good plotting, interesting characters, and crisp dialogue with a touch of humor. Beautiful, intelligent women, boats, airplanes, guns (all among my favorite things), and plenty of action, mostly in a tropical setting - what’s not to like?! Once I start one of these, I don’t want to stop! One thing that I really like is that, like Tom Clancy, Stephen Hunter, and a few others, Cap Daniels knows what he’s talking about with regard to flying, boats, guns, etc. and he gets the technical details right. This may not be War and Peace, but if you want first-rate entertainment with all the best elements of action/adventure, I’d highly recommend this and any other book in the Chase Fulton series (I suggest reading them in order). ... show more

  • A magnificent Caribbean thriller
I don’t know if Amazon is going to let me do this. I want to use one review for seven books. In the past two weeks, I have read seven books in the CHASE FULTON NOVELS series by Cap Daniels. The series is so tightly knit together that even when I have other books waiting on my Kindle, I have to read the “next” book in the series to keep up with the action. They are addictive. For those of you totally unfamiliar with the series, Chase is a young “troubleshooter” who works as a contractor for shadowy governmental agencies. Mostly he has been operating in the Caribbean, but he’s gone from the heat of the Panama Canal to an operation in wintery Russia that made me cold just reading about it. At present he is living on a 50’ catamaran which he homeports in St. Augustine, Florida. I’d like to tell you more, but I really don’t want to be a spoiler. I will say this: if you are a fan of the Caribbean thriller genre, you will love these books. If you are not … then what the heck is wrong with you? Too snooty? Buy these books. Read them in order. Sign up for Cap’s newsletter to get the painfully short freebie backstory book. Do it. NOW! David Thatcher Wilson, author Smith Beach Press ... show more
