There is no merit to this pamphlet (I wouldn't call it a book, since it is less than 10 pages long) whatsoever. It is amazing that such an item would even be listed for sale by Amazon. It took me all of about ten minutes to read through this “book.” It provides very general “tips” on plugging the bass into an amp, holding the bass, etc., but no real instruction how to actually play a bass guitar.
